Absolutely Fabulous
Had a great break at Carnoustie Golf Hotel. We were on a DB&B stay. Hotel was perfect. Our room looked over golf course and had a sea view. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing seemed to much of a bother to them. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back.

Carnoustie
Looks beautiful from outside. Room lovely (superior double) though only one towel. Carpet throughout bar and restaurant really needs updated. Food and drink prices reasonable and staff great. If you’re not a golfer then not much to do in Carnoustie.

Great night away
We had a fantastic stay, thoroughly enjoyed our dinner & breakfast & enjoyed exploring the surrounding are and using the leisure facilities available. One waitress (Anna Forbes) particularly stood out during our stay. We dined with our 3 year old daughter and her approach with her was amazing! Allowing her to place her own orders & generally paying her time and attention. In the words of Ellie “she was a very kind lady at dinner” Thank You for making her time special.

Fab hotel
Hotel was located in the heart of the golf courses. Staff, food and accommodation were all excellent. Fortunately, we had a room with a sea view, some had to look onto car park. Prices for food, drink and wine were all very affordable. Highly recommend.

Nice relaxing overnight stay
Having received vouchers from my work I booked this break after meeting a family who had stayed at this hotel and gave it a glowing review. Couldn't find fault with anything, room was lovely, both dinner and breakfast were of a high quality, well presented and tasty and the staff were all very welcoming .

Disappointed
Room was ok.. Health Suite and Pool as Excellent..but we were disappointed with the Food. I had the Featherblade of Beef, that tasted like the Meat from a poor Steak Pie without the Pastry..my Wife had the Chicken Breast, and was quite sick in the early hours.. because of this I will not be back, I’m afraid.

Scope For Improvements
Arrived at hotel for DBB and hotel had only been booked for B&B by Virgin Experiences. Carnoustie was a very nice venue and good hotel but breakfast was chaotic. Buffet style breakfast was very poor with delayed supply of various items. A real spoiler.

Average break
Great location, but not best time just after open as lots of temporary scaffolding blocked views to sea. Voucher was about to go out of date so we couldn't wait to use it later. Hotel was well decorated and room had tea/coffee and toiletries provided. Staff were friendly and helpful. Main disappointment was evening meal. Bistro was fairly expensive but food was at best average. Partner had the fish and chips which as expect it to be good at seaside, but local chippie at home was superior.

Not Quite A "Fore" At Carnoustie
Easy check in. Okay rooms. Nice bathroom - but awkward layout. Weren't there for golf and not long enough to use the spa - so can't comment on these. Good selection of wines & spirits. For such a nice and well known establishment, food was a bit of a let down. Avoid the pea risotto completely.....totally unseasoned and if you were to put cinnamon on top, could have passed as rice pudding...with peas!! Way too creamy. Out of 100% we'd give 85%. Not the best, but not the worst!
