Fancy getting started on your driving skills? We know it’s a while ‘til you can take your test, but that doesn’t mean you can’t start young. With the help of Young Driver and their ‘Firefly’ two-seater, you can get some experience in an authentic, specially-designed vehicle.
Complete with independent suspension, disc brakes, twin electric motors, rack and pinion steering, indicators and head lights, the Firefly has all the tools to ensure a drive experience just like cars on the road. The tablet-based dashboard will add a futuristic element to proceedings. You can reach speeds of 10mph, with patented safety systems to bring the car to a controlled halt to avoid collisions. Parents will also have use of a remote control cut off switch – just in case!

What happens on the day?
Upon arrival at your chosen location, you’ll be greeted and be and talked through a full safety briefing and demonstration. Then it’ll be time to drive. The young driver will enjoy 15 minutes driving one of the realistic road systems.
The Firefly is a two-seater, so a parent, guardian or a friend are more than welcome to jump in and enjoy the ride.Location

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 5 (under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)
- Maximum age: 10
- You should be in reasonable health and agile enough to climb into the vehicle
- This experience is not suitable for those with bad back or necks, epilepsy or heart complaints
- The Experience provider's child protection policy means that a parent, grandparent or guardian needs to attend with the young person. A comfortable hospitality area is provided at each site from which you can watch the action. Some are hospitality units, others are converted double decker buses and some are areas within the shopping centres themselves. At every venue there is somewhere nearby to purchase a tea, coffee, soft drink or snack

Availability
Your voucher is valid for six months from the date of issue, kindly note that you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
This experience is available on selected weekend dates throughout the year.
We recommend you book at least six to eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 1 hour for the whole experience. Exact duration will vary according to the number of participants on the day.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

“A good day ”
The Oxfordshire hotel and spa is in a beautiful location. The treatments were excellent and the food was good. The jacuzzi was out of order which was a shame. The hotel has seen better days, walls peeling, woodwork chipped, carpet stained. Needs some tlc.
