Get into the cockpit of one of the world’s fastest tracked reconnaissance vehicles with this Alvis Spartan Tank Driving Experience.
With the turreted version, Scorpion, being the current world speed record holder, you’ll take hold of the slightly lighter version the Alvis Spartan for a 20 minute drive. Your absolute beast of a tank weights 8 tonnes, so you’ll get to know all about the power coming from the 4.2 litre 6-cylinder petrol engine.
You’ll push the vehicle to its limit nearing 40mph on the 2.5 mile course as you take on the muddy and bumpy terrain. With room in the back for up to six passengers, it’s sure to be an unforgettable drive.

What happens on the day?
On arrival to the centre, you’ll be warmly greeted by the team as they check you in for your experience. Then, it’s on to the main event. 20 minutes driving in an Alvis Spartan tank, reaching speeds of up to 40mph navigating your way around the 2.5 mile course, tackling tricky terrain.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- Minimum height: 5ft
- Full UK driving licence required.
- All participants need to be able to drive a full manual vehicle.
- All participants need to be able to understand instructions during the briefing.
- Fitness/Health: You should be in reasonable health and able to climb in and out of the vehicle. This experience is not suitable for those with epilepsy, heart complaints or pregnant ladies
- Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate
- Spectators over the age of 8 are welcome (under 18's to be accompanied by an adult). Please note the vehicle will not be visible at all times during the experience.
- Up to 6 passengers are welcome in the back at a cost of £20 per person, payable at the time of booking. Minimum age 8. Under 18's need to be accompanied by a paying adult.

Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience by the expiry date.
The experience is available selected Fridays and Saturdays throughout the year. Exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 90 minutes for the full experience including briefing 20 minutes driving time.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
