Grab a fellow intrepid explorer and take a walk on the wild side with a guided expedition over the roof of London’s iconic O2, before tucking into a delicious afternoon tea at InterContinental London – The O2.

Suspended above the tent canvas, the two of you will make the 365m journey to the summit of The O2, donned in your climb suits, shoes and harnesses. At the top, you can breathe in panoramic views stretching out for miles around, before heading back down to reward yourselves at Meridian Lounge.

Take your seats amongst stylish, contemporary décor and ambient lighting for a feast that won’t disappoint. Executive Pastry Chef Amit Arya and his team have created an array of sweet and savoury delights; tuck in as you soak up views across the river Thames and Canary Wharf, providing a delightful backdrop to your dining.

“Absolutely Amazing Day”

The afternoon tea was lovely, such a selection of teas the the food was delicious!! The service was very friendly and the option of tea or champagne was great! The climb over the O2 was fantastic! My partner and I had so much fun and such a laugh and the view from the top is stunning! Well worth the climb!

What happens on the day?

The entrance to Up at The O2 is just to the left of The O2’s main entrance, and it’s here you’ll check in 15 minutes before your pre-booked time. Once everyone’s arrived (you’ll be heading up in a group), it’ll be time for a short safety briefing and grabbing your climbing gear – suit, shoes and a safety harness.

From there it’s up, up and away, heading to the summit of The O2 before a short stop at the top and heading back down the other side.

From entrance H in The O2, there is a direct walkway into the hotel (less than a minute walk). On arrival at Meridian Lounge at the InterContinental London – The O2, you’ll be welcomed by the staff and shown to your pre-booked table. Take your seats and soak up the delightful décor and views across the Thames and Canary Wharf, before dining on a delicious array of sweet and savoury treats.

Participant guidelines

Up at The O2

Minimum age: 8 (under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult)
Minimum height: 4ft (1.2m)
Maximum weight: 21 stone
Maximum measurements: Waist 50in (125cm), upper thigh 30in (75cm)
Up at The O2 is not suitable for pregnant customers
Climbers must not be under the influence of alcohol or legal or illegal substances: you will not be permitted to participate and will not be refunded
You must arrive 15 minutes before your climb time and latecomers will not be admitted and will not be refunded

Availability

Up at The O2

Up at The O2 is available Sunday to Friday (excludes Saturdays) throughout the year including Original, Sunset, and Twilight climbs.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

InterContinental London – The O2

The experience is available seven days a week, between 12.30 and 16.30 throughout the year. Exclusions may apply.

If you wish to take your experience in December, subject to availability, an upgrade fee will be payable directly to the supplier. Please discuss this at the time of booking.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow 2 hours for the full Up at The O2 Climb for Two. You are requested to arrive 15 minutes before your climb time and the climb takes 1 hour 30 minutes. Please allow 2 hours for your afternoon tea with additional time to travel between the venues.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
