Lovely visit and nice lunch
We had a well guided tour to the vineyard, with a return to the winery, followed by a wine tasting and two course lunch. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the food was lovely. The wines were delicious and so we bought several bottles for home consumption. A lovely 3-4 hour experience overall.

Wine Tasting at Chilford Hall Vineyard
Following a tour of the vineyard and winery, with a very knowledgeable and helpful guide (he answered every question asked) we enjoyed a two course lunch and tasted five Chilford wines. A very enjoyable experience - we learnt a lot about wine making, particularly in the UK, and then sampled some excellent Chilford wines over lunch - what more could you want! And, of course, we bought six bottles to enjoy at home.

Informative and enjoyable visit
Excellent explanation and illustration of wine making processes by a knowledgeable and friendly guide. Wine sampling was an eye opener for me..I hadn't appreciated how experts (not me) evaluate wine. Lunch was a salad with cold meats followed by ice cream with fruits and biscuits. I'm not sure how typical the lunch is as we were notified in advance issues with chef had necessitates alternative arrangements. Chilford Hall well sign posted. Iteresting location with plenty of history and artwork.

Chilford Hall Vineyard Tour
A welcome coffee at the visitors centre and explanation of the day by Graham our guide before we took the half mile walk to the vines (you can drive if the walk is too difficult for you) An interesting introduction to Chilford Hall and the Vineyards also met some of the grape pickers. Back to visitors centre for a very informative wine tasting. Then a nice simple 2 course lunch of Caesar Salad followed by ice cream. A good morning and educational.

An amazing tour
We had a lovely visit to Chilford Vineyard, starting with complimentary tea and coffee and then a gentle walk through the lane up to the vineyard. Our guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I believe we all learnt something about English wines today. Our tour was followed by wine tasting, and I have to admit the five glasses we sampled, were of generous proportions. Following the wine tasting a two course lunch was provided. All in all an excellent experience.

Enjoyable and informative
I thought I knew a little about wine, but I learnt so much more. Our guide was so knowledgable and in an interesting way gave a great insight into the English wine industry, and wine in general. He dispelled many myths, and I now feel more of an expert. We spent a whole morning, had a pleasant lunch and sampled 5 different wines. I recommend the experience.

Vineyard Tour, Wine Tasing & Lunch
Absolutely fabulous experience, tour guide was very knowledgable, explained the process from planting of the vines through to how these are managed and ultimately made into superb wines. Wine tasting was a lesson in itself, certainly learnt very useful tips that I will use in how I taste and select wines on the future. The quality of these English Wines were beyond my expectations and certainty pay more respect to locally produced wines. Complimented with a lovely lunch to complete our day out.

Great afternoon
My wife and I visited Chilford Vineyard as a treat from our Grand-daughters. Fortunately the weather was good which added to the visit, the walk into the vineyard was very instructive and the guide was very knowledgable. The later visit to the wine storage barn was really helpful un understanding the process of making wine. The following afternoon tea was delightful and very English. I would recommend a visit for those who have an interest in wine. an interest in wine.

Really interesting, informative and fun
My partner and I enjoyed the vineyard tour and lunch very much - our guide was so knowledgeable on the vineyard, its history and wine making in general, which made the tour really interesting. The wine was amazing - it was great to try wines that usually I wouldn't necessarily choose myself. Overall a great morning out!

Christmas Gift
This was a great day out. The Guide was excellent, very informative and we learned a lot about the processes at the vineyard. We were served 5 white wines to taste including a sparkling and had an information sheet about each one with details of flavours to identify in each and comment on them. We also were able to discuss our findings with the guide. After the tasting we had a very good lunch served to us. We were able to purchase wines, preserves and small gifts from their shop. Easy to park.

It was a perfect way to spend the day, sunshine, location, and people. Everyone was relaxed & friendly and everything went smoothly. Could of spent the whole day there. Our Host and Guide was the best, he explained the whole process from vine to wine in a way that we understood. We learnt so much from him. Lunch was superb. Would highly recommend this experience. Great Day Out
Great day outin the late summer sunshine. Very informative tour of the vineyard and grounds. Some very quirky buildings on site which would of been nice to find out a bit more about. The wine tasting at the end was good but it would of been nice to have been given the choice as to which 5 wines we tasted, it may have encouraged us to have made a purchase.

White wine and sunshine
An interesting and enlightening experience, placing an English vineyard squarely on the map. Expertise abounds with a comprehensive guided tour of vines and processes. A very adequate two course lunch followed a rather disappointing wine tasting. Very difficult to differentiate between the wine wines offered, the sparkling particularly musty to the nose. Our disappointment there being no red wines reserved for our tasting appreciation and potential positive comment. Bon chance to Chilford.

A great tour with good technical information
A good tour of the vineyard, a lovely picturesque walk to the vines. The pressing room is a good informative talk. I would like to have seen more of the bottling process as this looks very unique for a small scale plant. Also red wine was not available, a few bottles could have been kept from last year. I prefer red wine so this was a little disappointing.

A retirement present
A really interesting tour. Thought tour leader was very knowledgeable and obviously was really committed to business. Learnt a lot about different wines. Felt wine tasting should have involved food rather than having food afterwards as drinking wine in the morning was not the best time to appreciate wine.

DISSAPOINTING
The tour consisted of walking half a mile to the vineyard to stand on the grass verge listening to the guide, walk back to the winery into the barn just to look at stainless steel, listen to more talk and then into the cafe. We tasted 5 wines. The lunch was just a very leafy salad, half an egg, shaving of cheese, small slice of chicken and a couple of olives, followed by a very small scoop of ice cream in a wafer shell. The tour needs to be more interactive as I felt the whole day was wasted
