Tour and wine tasting at Hencote
I was bought this as a gift, and it was fabulous. They have a lovely set up at Hencote, the sommelier Sahara was clearly very knowledgeable and gave a really interesting tour and talk, which was pitched just right. we then did the wine tasting - while some were more to my taste than others, they were all very good. we finished with our free glass of bubbly, which was delicious. If you can afford lunch there afterwards, I’d recommend that too.

Wine tasting at Hencote
A fabulous afternoon. A super tour of the vineyard winery by the sommelier. Really interesting, lots of great background information and stories as well as technical information. Super wine tasting of 4 wines. I would definitely recommend it.

Really enjoyable day, despite poor weather!
Hencote is a very impressive vineyard and working farm, set on hillside overlooking the surrounding countryside and Shrewsbury itself. Mark, one of the family, spoke very well about methods of wine production, and we then had a relaxed tasting session in the beautiful restaurant, with panoramic views over their land. Wet weather prevented us from going outside, but I would suggest that a video display of some photos/videos of the wine production would make the talk even more interesting.

Wine Tasting Excellent Tour
Tour of the vineyard at Hencote was interesting and the view was spectacular. It was an excellent tour and Sahara our sommelier was very knowledgable The wine tasting was delicious but we were to stand up whilst doing the tasting of which made me feel not welcome in the restaurant and the tasting quite rushed. My suggestion would be to make it a more relaxed setting as the taste of the wine is just so fantastic it should be savoured. Beautiful place and excellent wine.

A pleasant vineyard visit.
We viewed the vineyard, press and vats and enjoyed a talk about the production process and history of this vineyard. This was followed by a tasting of 5 of Hencote's wines, fab! The sommelier described the wines and left us to taste them with the other guests. The highlight was seeing the fantastic views over Shrewsbury. We weren't offered a glass of sparkling wine as per Virgin offer. The pinor noir wasn't included in the tasting which was fine but a shame they wouldn't sell it by the glass.
