Bought this experience for my husband's birthday and it did not disappoint. From start to finish everything went like clockwork. Staff on the train were excellent, working tirelessly to accommodate everyone's needs and always with a friendly smile. The food was high quality and there was plenty of it! The carriage in which we travelled was tastefully decorated and comfortable. We chose to get off at Warwick and had a lovely afternoon looking round the castle. A day to remember. Highly recommend.

What happens on the day?
Stepping aboard at your chosen station, you’ll be welcomed with Champagne, orange juice and morning pastries, before enjoying a full English breakfast or brunch.
You will enjoy picturesque views of the English countryside rolling past en route to your chosen destination; once you arrive, you can head out to enjoy the surroundings as you wish or you can join one of the optional excursions, bookable in advance at additional cost.
Your return journey will take place in the authentic surroundings of a 1950s or ‘60s carriage decorated with table lamps and curtains, where you’ll be served a delicious four-course meal, with finishing touches including canapes, amuse bouche and a bottle of wine to share to make the evening a truly special one.
Please note you will be seated at a shared table for four people. If you wish to book a table for two please mention when making your booking and discuss payment of the upgrade fee.

- Under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult
- The Steam Dreams Rail Co. welcomes disabled passengers on our trains. Wheelchair and mobility scooter passengers need to be aware that there are steps up to the vintage carriages which they will have to use, passengers must also walk a short distance from the door to their seat. Wheelchairs and mobility scooters must be of the fold-up variety and will be stored in the guards van and cannot be used onboard the train. Unfortunately they are not able to provide wheelchairs. For details of platform accessibility please refer to National Rail Enquiries or the station operator for up-to-date information. Please state your mobility requirements at time of booking

The experience runs on selected dates throughout the year, subject to availability. Exclusions apply for Flying Scotsman trips, Christmas Carols and shopping specials.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

“Chuffed with the trip and the food”
Kings Cross to Lowestoft and back by steam with on-board dining. As a steam train buff this trip was a total delight. Traction (B1) performed perfectly from a passenger viewpoint. A couple of stops each way to take on water, but all well organised. The on-board team took great care of us, keeping us informed of progress. The food service was excellent and well paced. If you’re not a train buff, six hours each way could seem like a long ride, but I loved the whole experience :-)
