Lovely afternoon with dear friends
We couldn’t have ask for more, from the moment we arrived the staff were very attentive, helpful and very professional, the sandwiches and cakes etc were presented very nicely, it was truly an experience in nice surroundings, well done to everyone at the Poets House. We will return.

Excellent afternoon tea, highly recommended.
Well worth the price, was an excellent afternoon out, in a beautiful part of the country. Would highly recommend this as a way to finish off a day spent in the historical setting that is Ely.

Enjoy Yourself at The Poet’s House Hotel
Sparkling Afternoon Tea. A very smart, clean venue with pleasant staff. The COVID-19 security was clear, observed and unobtrusive. This was a surprise gift from my daughter and it was very enjoyable. The welcome and the food was lovely, We took the day to explore Ely and then enjoyed our meal. It was a lovely event and is highly recommended if you would like afternoon tea and you are in the area. Go on spoil yourself - you won’t regret it.

Tea for two with a view of Ely Cathedral
The tea gift was a Christmas present and we combined it with a visit to the cathedral and their Gowns exhibition. We arrived for the tea 30 mins early, this was no problem and the tea was served within 5 minutes. All elements were first class with as many teapot refills as we needed, All in all a very enjoyable event

Fabulous afternoon tea
The Poets house Hotel was a revelation, having both old style buildings with a modern but very tasteful extension and relaxing garden. The afternoon tea was perfect, neither my son nor I could finish everything, it was all home (restaurant) made and superb. with a really good variety. WE'll definitely being gong back for tea and a meal.

Nice and relaxing
Arrived an hour earlier than booked but this wasn't a problem. Quickly sat down and served a delicious afternoon tea. Only issue was the service. We had to wait an hour for another cup of tea as there were no staff around the bar area. We only got served when I went to reception looking for staff members Lovely hotel and grounds. Would go again but would complain about the service next time.

Poor service and selection
Some friends and I arranged afternoon tea here for a friends baby shower. We were looking forward to it as we had hosted a party here before and stayed overnight, however we were extremely disappointed. We were there for nearly 4 hours and were only offered one drink at the beginning. We were not asked once after that. The only tea options were English breakfast or earl grey. The vegan afternoon tea had no scones and 1 less pudding than the rest, although we did ask for a free drink in return.
