Thoroughly Chuffed!
I grew up in West Sussex, and commuted to my first job in Dorking (junior railway clerk) . So a steamhauled ride was a great - and rare adventure. The (This was circa 1953, by the way). So the Spa Valley trip was a great day out for me. The superb cream tea was a lovely way to end the day. Thanks to all at TW West.

Amazing!
I took my elderly parents on the steam train serving cream teas. We used our tickets first to ride up and down the track and take in the beautiful scenery. The tea was amazing with huge home made scones and cornish clotted cream. The staff were friendly and had a great sense of humour. All in all a wonderful experience and day of nostalgia.

Lovely experience
This experience is all run by volunteers who work really hard to ensure everything runs smoothly for your trip. The cream tea was all laid up ready for boarding with two enormous fresh home made scones each with cream and jam. Top ups of tea and coffee were served and the Prosecco was good too. Service was good with a smile. Lovely relaxing afternoon.

Pleasant afternoon tea
Our sons bought this experience for our 30th wedding anniversary. We were very fortunate to have glorious weather which always helps. The afternoon tea & scones were served to us by some lovely ladies who are amongst the volunteers who keep this vintage train running. Whilst the trip itself is limited to 3 stops (in each direction) taking around 1 hour with the opportunity to alight at some of the stops. We also sat opposite a friendly couple which also helps add to an enjoyable afternoon.

Great cream tea
Lovely cream tea on a steam train, very tasty scones! Great staff made it a very enjoyable day. A few little things stopped it being excellent. The gift shop wasn't open during the day. There was no heating in some of the coaches on the train and it was a very cold day and very limited access to the engine shed to look at the rolling stock. But in general a very enjoyable day. Much praise to the volunteer staff especially the catering staff and the lovely member of staff at Groombridge.

Spa Valley Railway
It was a very good day out. We were able to use the trains for trips in the morning and visit the stops along the line. Our cream tea in the afternoon was very good. Lovely scones and unlimited amounts of tea, not forgetting the Proseco! The staff on the railway were excellent especially the staff on the tea run. Good day out.

Spa train
I was disappointed that had to park so far away. My husband is not good walking and didn't realise could have used the Sainsbury’s car park timing our arrival with the time. Info of area could have been given out. Disappointed in the train ride which in total was only about half an hour what with changing trains etc. We were given to understand from our voucher was for a whole day. Though understand with Covid this was not possible. A long way to travel for scone and tea on a short trip.

Nice weather, the cream tea was nice, shame about the diesel derailment they had which meant the steam train couldn't run but I enjoyed the day.

~Very disappointing!
This trip was given to us as a Golden Wedding Anniversary present by our famliy . This trip was disappointing in many ways. Firstly when we presented our ticket at the ticket office there was no warm greeting or even a smile and when we asked if we could visit the engine shed we were told "through the plastic doorway but there's barrier". Sadly the steam engine had broken down, so it was diesel, tea was quite rushed and journey short so no time for Prosecco but nice scone. Could go on:(

No steam train
A bit disappointing, there was no steam train on the day as they said it wasn’t working so had a diesel one instead. The trip seemed a bit unorganised as they had to change the carriage we were booked onto so there was confusion as to where we had to get on and none of the staff seemed ready to help. The Prosecco was warm but the scones were nice.

Not as expected
Not as expected - felt it should have been a more grand experience- especially as advertised scones and pressecco would be served in “ heritage” carriage which in reality was in an old BR vehicle with plastic table cloths and quickly taken away after serving - although staff and volunteers were excellent- just the whole experience was a little underwelding and slightly misleading in its advertising
