Prepare to experience what it’s like to be a professional racing driver in this Simulator Race Experience for one.
At Chandler’s Ford or Halifax you’ll compete against the other drivers in an adrenaline-fuelled race to the finish line. Starting off in a FF1600 simulator, you’ll get to grips with the controls as you qualify for your place on the grid. Then the fun really begins as you speed round the circuit, wheel to wheel with your competitors. Once you’ve mastered the race car, you’ll upgrade to a modern racing car for more racing, battling it out for the coveted trophy.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at the centre, you will need to register before receiving a driver’s briefing, which includes an introduction to the controls on the simulator and details on how the event will be run. You will then be unleashed onto the circuit for your 20 minutes of practice and qualifying. You’ll use this time to learn how to handle the car and get to grips with the best lines into and out of the corners, before getting in that all-important fast lap to determine your position on the grid.
When your grid position has been determined, it's time for your first race to start. With all drivers ready, you will find yourself on the starting grid waiting for the start light procedure to commence. With the engine revs rising all around you, you will need to time your start to perfection as the lights turn to green.
Points will be awarded and preparations made for the next race. Once you have mastered the FF1600, you will be upgraded to a modern race car. Trophies will be awarded to the top three drivers of what will be an exciting and memorable race event.
Participant guidelines
- There are no weight or age limits but under 16s need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian
- Minimum height: 4ft 5in (135cm)
- Spectators are welcome
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location
Availability
The experience is run on most weekends throughout the year.
We recommend that you book at least six to eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow at least 3 hours for this experience.
You will have a combined 20 minutes of practice and qualifying with at least four races, which will give a minimum driving time of 60 minutes. On occasion you may be the only participant booked in. If you would like to guarantee you will be competing against others, please check numbers when making your booking - there will be days when group races are scheduled.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Great experience
Went on a race simulator day in Southampton. We had lots of track time and final race was in a Formula 1 BMW sauber. Incredible experience and very enjoyable. Highly recommend it

Excellent experience
This was a birthday present. Did the F1 experience. Was a little unsure at first, the graphics didn't exactly blow me away but really got into it over the course of the 2 hour experience. Once I stopped concentrating on the slightly poor graphics and started concentrating more on the gameplay and simulation I really got into it. Will probably go back.

Great experience!
A great 2 hours, of simulated racing, with various cars and good technology used. Looked after from start to finish - plenty of food / drinks / toilet available. Parking wasn’t the best but we parked over the road on industrial estate.

Virtual fun
Well explained briefing with easy to understand and usable racing pods Great structure of simple track with slowish car to qualify and get aquatinted then onto much faster and amidst and much more fun to drive old racing car Super friendly and packed out venue making it all the more fun Really enjoyed

A good experience
The race centre is a good way to drive like you stole it, without the dying part. A full HD driving experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Free parking and a jolly good laugh if in a larger group. Results can be reviewed with full telemetry.

Great 13th birthday present
A great 3 hours spent racing around the tracks against all different age groups. It makes you competitive as you really want to get in 3rd 2nd or 1st place. Highly recommend this experience for all ages.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT
I had a fantastic 'experience' at Cowley. The staff were friendly and everything was clearly explained. The simulators were really good, [sadly one of my ear muffs wasn't working properly, but that didn't detract from the enjoyment]. Everyone in the group was instantly sucked in to the sheer enjoyment of the experience and even though we were only in simulators, most of us just couldn't resist vocal comments from the off, much to the enjoyment of our 'guests'. I can't wait to return, amazing!!.

A brilliant afternoon. Well run, and great fun. At the start we were all strangers, but soon were all having fun together whilst competing. I will definitely be going back again, next time taking more people to share the experience.

Because it was a drive of over and hour from home we made a day of it going into the New Forest afterwards. We arrived at the venue and they were friendly and helpful. I am a huge F1 fan so driving an F1 car brilliant, the actual experience felt very real. My wife was able to come and watch and the licensed bar meant she could sit and enjoy herself too. We had a brilliant day and we will definitely be returning next year. The format and staff were brilliant. Thanks Virgin.

i loved it... but
Really good experience that I enjoyed a lot, also due to covid-19 i had the chance to drive double time. The only but that I have is the response of the wheel, I think my station didn't work properly as I couldn't feel the reaction of the wheels and keep jumping sideways so it was bit challenging.

More Fun that I expected!
My F1 Grand Prix Simulator Race Experience was better than expected, having been on a few in the past that I'd not found particularly realistic. This experience got the driver involved in the action with close to life-like video, crashes were realistic although no damage to cars and feedback through the steering was good. The whole session was about 3 hours, half of it was driving and you were able to watch and learn from the drivers in the other heats. Well organised and I'd do it again.

A really lifelike simulator and good fun. It would be good for more penalties for drivers who regularly cut corners or deliberately crash to get ahead.

F1 Experience
The set up was really good and I thouroughly enjoyed the races but it was spoil by mixing young children with adults as I was continually being hit from behind which spoilt the races for me.They should have either been penalised or their game paused for seconds.Maybe even only adults to race together and likewise children.

A fun experience
I was given the experience as a birthday present, and went with a friend. Initially we started on slower cars to get used to the track and then moved to the Formula 1 cars. Great experience that we will do again.

Pretty good
The overall experience was good, we're both racing fans, so enjoyed the opportunity to try out driving the cars. There were a few drawbacks: It's not a full 'simulator' just three screens, a seat, wheel and pedals. I would have liked more training on the car/practice time in order to get the most out of the racing time. The venue were advertising a similar experience for a much lower price. Hannah gets motion sickness and found it nauseating. Turning off the side screens helped a little.

F1 experience day
All in all a good, 3 went me dad and brother (mum the expector!) Wish had longer in the F1 didn't realise only laps thought was going to be a race. Us 3 should have made our own by all setting off at same time. The manager was really good and let us have some extra laps in the F1. Good day had by all (well afternoon). We will be back.....

First Race
Overall a very interesting and enjoyable experience. As an older first timer the briefing would have been better understood if done at a less frenetic pace and without the very loud 'background' noise from the main screen. Nevertheless very enjoyable and good value for money.

It was ok.
A bit disappointed to be honest. I was expecting a proper F1 SIM, like with a mock cockpit and proper driving position. I'm a novice to simulators so would've welcomed some on screen marker points for braking. Other than that it wasn't bad.

Spoilt
Overall I enjoyed the experience at the race hut, but it was spoilt by a few things. 1) we’d booked the f1 experience, but 2 of the 4 races were in a bmw. 2) my machine broke down completely after the first lap of my second race, to the point that they were still trying to reboot it well after everyone else had finished the race. 3) I lost my gears and steering during the third race, and after holding my hand up for attention, had to shout for someone to come and sort it. And no apology
