The only Spiced Rum Creation Class in the North of England, your two hour rum masterclass will be led by award-winning professionals. Your first stop is the flavour room, where you’ll learn all about the rich history and various styles of this popular tipple before you take part in a series of fun experiments to help you understand how we taste.
Putting your new-found knowledge to the test, you’ll move to the blending room as you create your own rum. From a selection of handmade distillates, you’ll choose your favourites to blend your own 50cl bottle of spiced rum. Ginger beer and rum will be provided throughout the experience to help fuel the creativity.

What happens on the day?
Arriving five to ten minutes before your pre-booked session begins, you’ll be warmly welcomed by your instructor. Your first stop is the flavour room ready to learn a whole host of facts and history about the popular tipple before a series of fun experiments about flavour.
Utilising the skills learnt, you’ll move on to the blending room as you create your own spiced rum. From a selection of handmade distillates, you’ll pick your favourites and use them to create a 50cl bottle of spiced rum. Throughout the class, rum and ginger beers will be provided to help fuel the creativity.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- The Studio is located on the first floor of the building, unfortunately due to the age and design of the building there is no disabled access. There are 20 steps with a handrail from the entrance to the first floor and two small steps between the Tasting & Blending rooms
- Seating is available if required
- A unisex toilet is also located on the same floor with no extra step access

Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Please be sure to book and use it before the date shown.
The experience can be booked on a Thursdays at 19.00 and Saturdays at 15.00 at the times shown below. Date exclusions may apply.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
