Explore the unique 3km dirt track as you both enjoy two runs full of sweeping bends, hair-raising hairpins, tunnels, chicanes and banked corners, against a backdrop of incredible views.
Ride to the top of the quarry in ex-army trucks for a full safety briefing before travelling down the Penrhyn Quarry mountains, alongside the world’s fastest zip line! With two full runs, it’s all about beating your personal best…and each other!

“Fantastic afternoon of fun”
The truck up the steep slate quarry side revealed stunning views over Penrhyn quarry and the blue lake. As we neared the top we could see people flying past over our heads on the velocity 2 zipline. The downhill slate track was brilliantly carved into the hillside with fast straights, tight banked corners and even tunnels! A bit of healthy competition and safe overtaking made the 2 races down great fun!

What happens on the day?
Arrive 30 minutes prior to your booking and on arrival at Zip World in Penrhyn Quarry, you’ll check in with a member of staff, before being transported to the top of the quarry in ex-army trucks. The team will give you a full safety briefing and all the necessary equipment before giving full rein to explore the track unaided.
Celebrate your win at an additional cost at the on-site bistro-style restaurant, serving locally-sourced delights.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 15
- Minimum height: 4ft 4in (1.3 m)
- Maximum height: 6ft 11ins (2.1 m)
- Minimum weight: 4st 10lb (30 kg)
- Maximum weight: 18 stone 11lb (120 kg)
- Medical conditions such as heart problems, claustrophobia or epilepsy may increase your chance of having an accident - please check with the supplier prior to booking to see if you are suitable for this experience
- Unfortunately this experience is not suitable for those suffering with high blood pressure or for pregnant women
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
The experience is available seven days a week and school holidays between April and October. Open weekends and selected weekdays during off-peak periods. Exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

“Good fun ”
My husband and I went quarry karting and it was good fun. We did better on the second go. Would be better if we had known to have a zipped pocket for keys or if the karts had a small zipped pouch on the back.
