With a human history dating back to 295 BC, Poole Harbour has long been an important part of Britain. As you drift along on your cruise through the shallow waters your skipper will fill you in on the sights and surroundings, so keep your camera close if you want to capture the intriguing scenery as it passes by.
There are famous houses to spot at Sandbanks, beautiful beaches and historic Poole bays, a castle and Lord Baden-Powell’s original campsite to see as you pass by Brownsea, and keep your eyes peeled for local fauna who might pop their heads up to say hello!

“We will do the trip again in the summer ”
Taking into account it was February the boat trip was good the staff and boat crew were friendly the on board commentary was clear and informative. We will be taking the trip again in the summer. Due to it being low tide we were unable to go around the smaller islands.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Poole Quay you’ll head for the red City Cruises kiosk to swap your vouchers for Cruise tickets.
The staff at the kiosk will let you know when the next departures are so you can plan your time in Poole, and when it’s time to head off you’ll clamber aboard the boat, take a seat above or below deck, then settle in for an informative and intriguing 1 hour 10 minute cruise around Poole Harbour and Brownsea Island.

Participant guidelines
- Under 16s must be accompanied by a full paying adult
- Not all of the vessels have been designed or adapted for passengers in wheelchairs. If you intend to travel on a vessel which has not been so designed or adapted, you must satisfy yourself as to its suitability before embarking.
When travelling on any vessel not adapted for wheelchair access, if you use a wheelchair you must bring enough helpers to enable you to make your journey safely including getting on board the vessel and leaving it at your destination.
Even on vessels designed or adapted for wheelchair access it may not be possible for you to sit in a wheelchair at a table and, for reasons of safety, you may be asked to move from your wheelchair into a fixed seat, in which case the wheelchair will be stowed in a safe place.
Under no circumstances must wheelchairs obstruct any access to safety and life saving equipment, gangways, stairs or passageways - The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
This experience is available daily between 1 April and 31 October (summer) and on a Satruday, Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 1 November and 31 March (winter)
Sailing Times (may be subject to change) :
Summer: 11.00, 12.30, 14.30 and 16.15* - *only available during the 6 weeks summer holiday period
Winter: 11.00, 12.30, 14.30
Exclusions may apply and can include UK Mother's day, Good Friday to Easter Monday, UK Father's day and Bank Holiday Mondays.
You must pre-book and take your experience before the voucher expiry date
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please note: All bookings are subject to availability and operational changes. There is a set allocation for voucher holders on each date and it is not always possible to fulfill specific date requests.
Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes for the whole experience. The cruise lasts 1 hour 10 minutes.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
