Located in rural Hampshire, the Bombay Sapphire Distillery is a veritable gin-lover’s paradise. You’ll start your experience on a tour with a distillery host, where you’ll discover fascinating history about Bombay Sapphire and gin. See the ten exotic botanicals at work in the Glasshouses and Botanical Dry Room, before hearing all about the rare Vapour Infusion process used to make Bombay Sapphire gin. Having immersed yourselves in the history and of the gin, you’ll head to the Mill Bar to sip a gin cocktail each.
The Victorian-era, Esseborne Manor is the perfect place to spend the night. Set amidst the splendour of the North Wessex Down, you'll take dinner in the hotel’s award-winning The Courtyard Restaurant, where you’ll enjoy the evening’s four-course dinner menu. Breakfast will also be included in your stay.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Esseborne Manor Hotel, you’ll be welcomed by a member of the team and shown to your pre-booked accommodation. You can take dinner in the evening and breakfast in the morning will be included in your stay.
At the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, you’ll be greeted by a distillery host who will take you on a tour of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery where you will learn about the history, botanicals and production processes which make Bombay Sapphire so special. Finish up in The Mill Bar with a gin cocktail each.
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- ID may be requested - failure to present ID will result in refused entry
- Please be aware that the majority of the distillery tour will be standing. There are seats available at various points throughout the tour, but please inform the distillery in advance if you have any access needs
- The distillery is proud to say that it offers full access to disabled guests and this has been a major factor in the design of the distillery experience. Manual wheelchairs are available for loan on the premises free of charge. If you require the use of a wheelchair please contact the distillery in advance

Your one night break is available seven days a week. Exclusions may apply.
Bombay Sapphire Distillery
The tour is available Sunday to Friday. Date exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least three months in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Your hotel stay will be for one night. Check-in will be from 15.00 on the day of arrival and check out will be 11.00 on the morning of departure. Allow 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours for the visit to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Wonderful!
The hotel was beautiful, comfortable and in a lovely area. The gin experience was very interesting and enjoyable, made even better by a nice cocktail at the end! A great weekend, would go to both the hotel and gin distillery again!

Fabulous
Lovely olde worlde manor house hotel with modern bathroom facilities, excellent food. Hosts were really welcoming and friendly. The trip around the distillery was fun, informative and very enjoyable.

Great time. Would do again
Hotel was nice. Staff couldn’t do enough for you but could do with a bit of updating. The food was absolutely amazing. Bombay sapphire experience was really interesting and the tour guide was lovely.

Fab weekend

Such a wonderful weekend!
The Manor House was dated but the staff where lovely, room was a good size and I went being wheat and daisy intolerant and they catered to eat all! The food was incredible. The tour of the distillery was amazing and the tour guide Louise was lovely and made the tour so fun but full of information.

The best girls weekend ever
The whole experience was fantastic. The hotel was lovely, the check-in/out was quick and simple. Once checked in we were invited for cream teas in the lounge. Our room (Bath) was big and spacious. It had a super king size bed and all the facilities you would find in top hotel. The food was 5 star, seriously good and would highly recommend. The Bombay Sapphire gin distillery tour was excellent. Our guide was fun and knowledgable and didn’t rush us round. For Gin lovers this is a must do!

A friendly, family hotel with a nice atmosphere
Essebourne Manor is a very pleasant place to stay. Due to having to change dates we were offered a generous upgrade and so enjoyed a large comfortable premier room with sitting area and Jacuzzi bath tub. The 7 course dinner was truly delicious. Compliments to the chefs for this! Staff were all friendly, helpful and accommodating. The hotel was well maintained both inside and out with a pretty garden. The gin tour was informative, well organised to cope with covid and spotlessly clean.

Fantastic gift for my partners birthday!
From booking this experience to the time we had to leave , we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The Bombay Sapphire Distillery Tour was so well organised, interesting and the cocktails delicious . Esseborne Manor Hotel was a lovely old country hotel . We had a lovely deluxe room , which was quiet and comfortable. The staff were excellent, they couldn’t be faulted . The food was delicious. A truly great experience all round !

Great experience.
Very informative tour of the distillery ending with a lovely cocktail. Shame covid meant we couldn't buy a 2nd (or 3rd!) Stay at hotel was lovely with great service and food. Large room with comfortable bed. Hard to fault this 3 star hotel. Quite an old building which wont be to everyone's taste but we liked it.

Great day out
Tour guide on Gin Tour was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Hotel decor was a little dated but surpassed by wonderful food and such friendly and helpful staff. Family run hotel. Cosy living room with log fire. Nothing was too much trouble. Fabrics (curtains) and linen (beds) was superior. Good, comfortable night's sleep. Would like to go again.

Luxury hotel and informative experience
Hotel was very comfortable with 4 poster bed and jacuzzi bath. Food very good and very hospitable hosts. Bombay Sapphire tour informative, hands on with great tour host, so good I just had to buy some Gin.

Relaxing experience
Bombay Sapphire Distillery well worth the trip especially with all its history. The hotel selected was 3 star but the service and location was excellent. The food was fine dining standard in a 5 star hotel- it was delicious and the best dinner I have had in a long while. The hotel was not far from Highclere Castle, so if you are a Downton Abbey fan, this hotel would be an ideal location to combine with Virgin Experience.

A very good 2 days.
Esseborne Manor and Country House hotel was comfortable and the food and service was excellent. The room was large and very well equipped with everything one might require. The bathroom was similarly equipped. Dinner was excellent in both food, presentation and service. The breakfast menu was varied and also excellent. The visit to the distillery was interesting and informative.

Fantastic combination experience
What a lovely way to enjoy your 50th Wedding Anniversary. The country Hotel was so quaint and the food out of this world. Then followed on by a trip round the world famous Distillery of Bombay Saphire. The tour round the distillery was both entertaining and enlightening finishing with one of the best Cocktails I have ever tasted. At both venues the staff were excellent and everything worked like clockwork. I would definitely recommend this experience.

Super 60th birthday present!
The Bombay Sapphire distillery tour was very interesting and informative. Great history behind the distillery location itself and the water source etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails afterwards. We stayed at the Essebourne Manor hotel, which is a bit dated but was perfectly fine. The 3 course dinner was fabulous and the breakfast next morning was equally as good. The staff at the hotel were very nice Only complaint would be distance from hotel to distillery, cab cost £30 each way!

Sapphire wedding anniversary trip
Lovely trip. Had a great time exploring the Bombay sapphire distillery, lovely cocktail to finish. Stay at Essebourn Manor was amazing, lovely room with access to the garden, food was really good and staff were very helpful and friendly. Loved every minute.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and visit. Everyone was really friendly. The ladies who looked after us at Bombay Sapphire were warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The staff at the hotel took extra care to ensure that our stay with them was really memorable. The food was beautifully prepared and presented perfectly. Gin and dinner ... yummy
Started the afternoon with a tour of the Bombay Sapphire distillery, which was really interesting and definitely worth a visit. Best bit was trying the finished product in the form of cocktails a the end of it, and the driver got to take away an G&T for later :-) Essebourne Manor hotel was a surprise and a bit of a gem. The food was unexpected good and loved having a whole veggie menu option to choose from. Service was good and the drinks prioes were very reasonable.

Fantastic birthday treat
What a great break. It was really interesting, and educational visiting Bombay Saphire distillery. Very informative tour guide, and lovely treat to finish with a gin cocktail. Esseborne Manor County House was lovely. Very homely and relaxing. The evening meal delicious. Highly recommend this friendly, welcoming hotel. All round a great Virgin Experience. Fab experience
Would really recommend the Bombay gin tour - lovely location and very interesting with gorgeous cocktail afterwards. Esseborne manor is a beautiful hotel set in wonderful grounds with outstanding food and a very reasonable wine list! The cast of Downton Abbey stayed here and we certainly had a Downton experience !

The Bombay Sapphire Distillery tour
This was brilliant, definitely recommend it. The gentleman who gave the talk on the process was very informative. Some of the tour is something you do at your own pace and in today's heat that was a blessing. The cocktail at the end hit the right spot! The hotel Esseborne Manor at Hurstborne Tarrant, Andover was charming, beautiful and comfortable. Great food, clean bright rooms, family run and very helpful staff. We'll be back

A perfect 2 days!
We stayed in the superb Essebourne Manor Hotel for one night. The room was excellent, lovely 4 poster bed and a big bathroom with Jacuzzi style bath and separate shower. Nice gardens surrounding with countryside views, The evening meal was delicious! The second part of our experience was a visit to The Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery about 20 minutes drive away. We both really enjoyed our visit as we love a G&T! Its an excellent place to visit and can highly recommend the experiences!

Fabulous day and evening
I was bought this experience for my Xmas present, well what can I say but what a fabulous and most enjoyable day at the Bombay Sapphire Distillery, very interesting to learn how the gin started off back all those years ago and then at the end of the experience you get to choose a gin cocktail which was very hard to choose. On the evening we stayed Esseborne Manor Hotel, again what a lovely place, we were greeted and made to feel very welcome, the food was outstanding.

Gin converts.
Bought as a gift for us, and being non - Gin drinkers, we were unsure as to whether it was a trip for us. However, the visit to the Bombay Sapphire Distillery was informative and highly enjoyable and we are now converted to Gin drinkers . We then moved on to Esseborne Manor Hotel, which we found to be first class. The accommodation, service, staff and restaurant were all exemplary and provided a highly enjoyable stay.

Hotel break & Bombay Sapphire tour.
Country House stay was very good despite Covid restrictions. Food was excellent. Grounds of hotel very pleasant. However the ambience of hotel was very dated and the decor would benefit from a makeover. Owners and staff all very friendly and helpful. Tour guides at Bombay Sapphire would benefit from wearing visors instead of face coverings, as it made listening difficult.

Bombay Esseborne
Esseborne not too bad although small water leakage in room a cause de the rain which fell all day. Restaurant food, however, very good indeed and good choice of wines and spirits. Bombay was interesting but the Cocktails not as good as we had hoped. We have made better at home!
