What happens on the day?
On arrival at the Edinburgh City Hotel, you’ll be greeted by the reception staff and shown your room. From there, the time is yours to enjoy as you wish, whether you fancy heading out to explore the nearby city centre, or simply relaxing for a while. Enjoy a delicious dinner in the hotel’s stunning restaurant, where you can each enjoy a £22 allowance towards a meal from the Brasserie-style menu. Following a restful night’s sleep, you can tuck into a tasty breakfast.
Your tour will begin at the Victorian Mercat Cross, where your guide and historian will lead you through the streets of the Old Town on your way up the Royal Mile towards Edinburgh Castle. Your tour includes entry to the castle, so you’ll be able to learn even more of the city’s secrets as you’re guided through its paths and across battlements.

Availability
One Night Break
Your one night break is available 7 days a week. Date exclusions such as special or major events will apply. Weekend dates may be limited in Spring/Summer. All bookings are subject to availability and some weekends may be subject to a minimum stay.
Check in will be between 14.00 and 15.00 on the day of arrival and check out will be between 10.00 and 11.00 on the morning of departure.
Guided Walking Tour
This experience takes place Wednesday to Sunday at 10.00 and 13.00. Date restrictions may apply. Please alow a total of 2 hours 15 minutes for your guided walking tour.
Please note that until the end of February 2022, the tour will be operating Friday, Saturday and Sunday only.
We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available before the expiry date listed on the voucher. You must book and take your experience before the expiry date. Please note - Saturdays can be particularly busy and at peak times may require a minimum 12 weeks lead booking time.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

“Great getaway”
We were given this trip as a gift and it was the perfect mini holiday. The hotel is in a great location for exploring Edinburgh, and we were given a newly refurbished room with fantastic views which was a really nice touch. The tour was brilliant, we would never have thought of booking that ourselves but really enjoyed the history and stories about the old town. I would highly recommend this as a gift for people keen to explore Edinburgh.
