About this experience
Go off-roading in military style. You’ll take the controls of the Leyland DAF 45/150. Your absolute beast of a truck weighs in at just over 6 tonnes, so you’ll know all about the power coming up from that huge diesel engine. Fully kitted out in your safety gear, your instructor will show you the ropes before you put those special tyres through their paces across the tricky terrain. Simple to drive, you’ll have mastered the clutch and amazing power steering in no time.
Things only get more powerful from here. Back at HQ you’ll switch over to the phenomenal Alvis Stalwart. With six-wheel drive and Rolls Royce engine, this legendary machine was designed to go where tanks couldn’t. Amphibious, and with speeds of up to 45mph, your instructor will put their foot down as this 6.5 litre monster eats up the terrain for a passenger ride you’ll never forget.

On arrival it was good to see the vehicle's they looked good and in good condition Even with the extra Precautions for covered 19 it did not change the friendly welcome of the host who were more than happy for photos with the assorted Vehicles From the tracked apc to a fire engine and the military truck i was there to drive and Thursley enjoying every minute of it I'd recommend to anyone to dont hold back and make it really happen don't forget your camera 😉

What happens on the day?
On arrival, you’ll be kitted out before being introduced to your Leyland DAF 45/150 vehicle. Having been whisked over to the other side of the venue your instructor will give you a quick instructional briefing before you’re let loose on the off-road track.
After your amazing drive, you’ll take the passenger seat for an unforgettable ride in the Alvis Stalwart (only available at Bicester). Hold on tight as your instructor gets every bit of performance from the 6.5 litre Rolls Royce engine.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- Minimum height: 4ft 6in
- Maximum height: 6ft 4in
- Weight should be in proportion to your height
- Fitness/Health: You should be in reasonable health and able to climb in and out of the vehicle. This experience is not suitable for those with epilepsy, heart complaints or pregnant ladies
- Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
Your voucher is valid for nine months from the date of issue, kindly note that you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The experience takes place on Thursdays and Saturdays and selected other days from February to December
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
