In this fantastic two-hour experience, you’ll learn to shoot a traditional English longbow by challenging yourselves against a series of targets with the help of a dedicated instructor. Shooting with handcrafted longbows and arrows against Medieval-themed targets, you’ll feel right in the heart of battles some 600 years ago! What happens on the day?
On arrival at Now Strike Archery, you’ll meet your qualified instructor. Get ready to channel your inner Robin and Marion as you learn to shoot a traditional English longbow! Become competent with bow learning with the help of your instructor, before practicing your new skills and challenging yourselves against a series of targets at progressive distances.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 8 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent)
- Please note: there should be no alcohol or illegal substances consumed either before or during the experience
- Spectators are welcome, however views may be restricted
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
Available on selected days throughout the year, both weekdays and weekends. Date restrictions may apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. Weekends are particular busy and we advise you to book at least eight weeks in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

“Archery was fantastic!”
We had a really fab morning trying out archery with Adam. The archery itself was great and, whilst we didn't find it easy to be very accurate It was a relatively easy technique which meant we could have a lot of fun trying! Adam gave us a really interesting insight into the history of the longbow whilst explaining the kit, and could not have been more friendly or helpful. If we didn't live two hours away we would definitely go back more often!
