Get ready to ride The Wave together! This 200m surfing lake delivers an unrivalled inland surf experience, and now’s your chance to try it with a surf session with lesson and a light meal in the lakeside café.
Your session will be a mix of lakeside training and in-wave action, taking place in small white-water waves. You’ll learn how to control your board, be introduced to surfing basics, and discover techniques that work for you. With 1000 waves per hour, there’s no shortage of opportunity, and with expert, friendly coaches guiding you every step of the way, you’ll be sure to get the most out of your experience.
Surf complete, you can head over for a one-course meal and a drink each, at the lakeside café where you’ll find a menu brimming with delicious, nutritious dishes to appeal to every palate.

What happens on the day?
You’ll need to arrive 1 hour 30 minutes before your selected time slot to ensure you’ve got plenty of time to pick up your equipment, get suited and booted, and get ready to surf. You’ll be provided with a wetsuit and surfboard before joining the rest of the small group for your session. The Wave champions a culture that seeks to bring out the best in everyone, so you’ll find the coaches are both highly-qualified and professional, but also down-to-earth, friendly, and encouraging.
You’ll be shown a mix of on-land and in-water training, ensuring you make the most out of your session. Afterwards, head over to the lakeside café, where you can enjoy a main course and a drink to relax.
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 6 (under 16s must be accompanied by a paying adult)
- You must be able to swim 25 metres
- Participants will need to be relatively fit. Please check with your doctor if you have any medical concerns
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
The experience is available seven days a week throughout the year. Exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 4 hours for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
