An unforgettable experience, Skegness Aquarium is the only location in the UK that allows children to snorkel and interact with baby sharks, free from barriers, from such a young age.
With an instructor guiding you, you’ll discover incredible sea species, get to grips with snorkelling, meet sharks and learn about their welfare. You’ll get to spend 20 minutes discovering the wonders of the Lost Lagoon on a quest to find those elusive mermaid purses and search out the baby sharks! You’ll also safely interact with the sharks during a feeding session, with time before or afterwards to explore the wonders of Skegness Aquarium with an adult.

Highly recommend this experience!! My girls - 7yrs & 8yrs loved it so much. We drove from London specially for this and spent the whole weekend in Skegness. Whist Snorkelling the baby sharks swam freely around the children- there were 7 of them-3 different types. The girls were excited to handle shark eggs too and the instructor was very nice and gave us lots of conservation information. The whole experience was fantastic and great value for money as we got to explore the Aquarium afterwards.

What happens on the day?
You’ll begin your experience from home with an online E-Learning session which will pass on key information and build the excitement, then once you've arrived in person there will be a briefing from an experienced instructor, who’ll be giving you the lowdown on snorkelling. The snorkelling experience for one child will last 1 hour, including 20 minutes to explore the Lost Lagoon, searching every corner to find the baby sharks as well as shark egg cases. Learn about sharks, their welfare and how to protect them, before watching them being fed around your feet in the water!
Your parent or guardian will be able to spectate, and join you in exploring the rest of Skegness Aquarium afterwards. Please leave time for the before and after based on the booked time

Participant guidelines
- Entry to Skegness Aquarium is for one adult (over 18) and one child
- Snorkelling:
- ​Minimum age for children: 6
- Maximum age for children: 11
- No previous experience is required, although confidence in water is essential

- Each paid participant may bring one free spectator. Additional spectators are charged at extra cost
- All participants will be videoed during the experience and will have the option to purchase a video link of the experience
- There is a digital lesson which will be carried out via an online E-Learning link and needs to be completed prior to arrival.

Availability
This experience is available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays at 08.00, throughout the year. Excluded dates may apply. At the discretion of the Dive Team, more spaces may be made available to meet demand.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 1 hour for the snorkelling experience, and a full day exploring the aquarium.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
