About this experience
Budding zoologists can experience life as a zookeeper for the day with this Junior Keeper for the Day for Two at Dartmoor Zoo.
Guests will work alongside the zoo’s keepers and get up close and personal with a variety of animals. You’ll take part in feeding and cleaning the enclosures, helping the team create a rich, fun environment for the residents. Lunch will be served in the Jaguar Restaurant and you’ll each take home a certificate to remember your day as an official zookeeper.

What happens on the day?
You’ll meet one of the zoo’s keepers who’ll take you through the daily processes that keep the animals thriving.
Lunch will be included in the Jaguar Restaurant and you will each take home a certificate to remember your day.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 8
- Maximum age: 15
- All perticipants will need to be accompanied by an adult, at no extra cost (please note lunch will not be included for the accompanying adult) Proof of age may be required
- The experience is not recommended for anyone who has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
Your voucher is valid for twelve months from the date of issue, kindly note that you must have booked and taken your experience before the expiry date.
The experience is available once a month, subject to availability.
We recommend you book at least three months in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 5 hours for the whole experience, starting at 10.00 and finishing at 15.00.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
