What happens on the day?
On arrival at South Lakes Safari Zoo, you’ll be warmly greeted by the keepers ready for your Junior Keeper Experience. At 09.00, you’ll enjoy a breakfast to fuel the adventures of the day ahead. You’ll then take a deep dive into the world of animal care, meeting, feeding and cleaning a range of different creatures and their enclosures.
The experience also includes a voucher for a child’s sausage and chips in Tibor’s restaurant and you'll also enjoy all-day access to the South Lakes Safari Zoo, valid on the day of your Junior Keeper Experience.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 6
- Maximum age: 15
- All participants are supervised by a DBS checked animal keeper throughout. Adults are not permitted to join the experience under any circumstances
- All participants must be joined by a parent/guardian at the beginning and end of the experience and to enjoy the rest of the exhibits. There is a 20% discount on the on-the-door admission prices for general admission tickets purchased when booking the junior keeper experience
