Kick things off in style with a drinks reception of MAP’s signature cocktails accompanied by light nibbles. MAP Maison prides itself on its creative and talented team of mixologists, and you’ll have one on hand to take you through the fascinating history of Japanese whisky and its three main distilleries, Nikka, Suntory and Mars. You’ll sample three premium whiskies, before getting behind the bar to create your own beautifully prepared whisky cocktail. To finish things off you’ll receive a third cocktail from MAP Lab’s extensive bottled cocktail range to take home,

What happens on the day?
The two of you will head over to MAP Maison, where you can take in the bar’s stunning 1920s styled décor as you enjoy the pre-booked drinks reception of cocktails and light nibbles.
From there, you’ll be taken through the fascinating history of Japanese whisky by one of MAP Maison’s expert mixologists and enjoy three samples of premium whiskies. Finish things off by getting behind the bar to create your own Japanese whisky cocktail. Finish off by receiving a third cocktail each for take away from MAP Lab’s bottled cocktail range.

The experience is available Tuesday to Sunday from 12.00 to 16.00. Excluded dates may apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Great day out with my buddies!!
Had a wonderful afternoon tasting varieties of great Japanese whisky and some cocktails along with my dear buddies. The lady at The Map & the Maison made us comfortable and took us on a wonderful journey of whisky industry in Japan. Highly recommended.

Excellent!
Fascinating introduction to Japanese Whiskey; extremely informative. The bar was beautifully decorated, a superb ambience with an impressive collection of whiskey and alcohol. The bartender was so friendly and engaging, definitely made us feel welcome. The cocktails were so delicious we had to stay afterwards for some more drinks! Overall, a brilliant experience.

An initiation into the art of Japanese Whisky
A great introduction into the wonderful world of Japanese Whisky from the knowledgeable and skilful team at Map Maison. Along with discussing the history of Japanese whisky there were plenty of opportunities to taste, including the chance to help create your own cocktail. Map Maison is famous for its collection of Japanese whisky and the stylish bar certainly adds to the ambience. Can thoroughly recommend for anyone with a love of whisky!

Beautiful place and very nice staff
This was a xmas gift for my boyfriend who wanted to learn more about Japanese whisky. The place is classy but very relaxed, every one was super nice and passionate about their job. I'm not a whisky lover but I found myself enjoying most of the drinks I had. I definitely recommend this experience!

Unforgettably good, fun and unique experience
Myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed the Japanese Whisky Tasting Masterclass - it was such a fantastic and really fascinating, engaging experience - congratulations on creating and delivering something so memorable! I bought it for us both for my boyfriend's birthday - really impressed with how generously we were provided with drinks and information/atmosphere. We've both said we'll definitely visit again for drinks soon - we absolutely loved the whole interior/energy of Map Maison!

Fabulous Japanese whisky tasting
Wow this is an amazing experience Loved every minute of it spending a Saturday afternoon in lovely surroundings. We arrived a couple of hours early to have lunch not part of the experience. Sat in very comfortable chairs could have easily nodded off!! We had a meat and cheese board with mini burgers to die for. The experience we started with prosecco and nibbles. The guy explained all about the whisky so knowledgeable and very interesting. We tried 3 whiskies and made a whisky cocktail. LOVED IT

A Historic trip into Japanese Whisky making
Can’t remember hosts name but he was brilliant!!! The extra free glass of Prosecco went down well and my friend and I had the most memorable time. Recommend it🥰!!!

Great Value for Money and Very Interesting

Great info, drinks and overall experience
The lady running the experience had great knowledge of the history of Japanese Whisky which made the experience really interesting. We got a glass of prosecco, some olives and nuts to start with (I did let them know that my partner is allergic to nuts but never mind!). Then we got to taste three different whiskies. After that the lady made a cool whisky cocktail for us, then each person got to pick and make their own cocktail. All in all a great experience. Highly recommend.

Really interesting evening

A great way to spend a rainy Saturday!
We got given this experience as a wedding gift & it was such a nice thing to do on a rainy Saturday afternoon in December! MAP Maison is a beautiful, cosy cocktail bar. 12 of us sat along the bar & tasted the whiskies while learning about the history of Japanese Whisky, before trying a cocktail & then making one of our choice behind the bar. The only thing that was a bit offputting was other customers coming in to check for space & talking behind us which occasionally made it a bit hard to hear.

Not the greatest of experiences, in a bar with some other locals given a few drinks and one cocktail whilst the barman tells me a story
