Overview
Enjoy learning all about Thai food with the Half Day Thai Cookery Class at the Cookery Academy in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. You will create a range of popular authentic Thai dishes using fresh ingredients such as rice, fish and vegetables, and use exotic herbs and spices. Some of the dishes you may create include Thai Read Curry, Jasmine Rice and Fish Cakes. Your knowledgeable tutor will teach you how to makes these mouthwatering dishes but the class will primarily see you learning from hands-on experience as you cook your own dishes.
You will be provided with a detailed knowledge of the key herbs and spices you will be using to create your Thai dishes. To enhance your understanding and help you recreate these delightful plates of food at home you will also receive a full recipe pack. This course is suitable for anyone who enjoys cooking, with no experience necessary and there will be plenty of one to one tuition as there is a maximum of six participants in a single class.

What happens on the day?
On arrival participants will be registered and offered beverages of their choice. The day starts with a brief introduction to the spice trail followed by a session of making traditional Thai curry pastes; after which you will cook a number of dishes.
All beverages, wines and beers are included in the experience. Each participant will receive an information and recipe pack including details of what has been cooked on the day. Lunch is included but participants have the option of taking home what they have made in the class
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 11 (under 18’s need parental or guardian consent)
- A soft drink alternative will be offered to under 18s. ID may be required
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
The Cooking Academy runs a variety of courses on selected days from Monday to Friday, September to July. Please check their website to find out the dates and times of your course. Classes run from 10.00 to 13.30.
We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 3 hours 15 minutes with an additional 30 minutes to enjoy lunch.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
