What happens on the day?
On arrival at the studio, you’ll meet your expert instructors and fellow participants ready to get going. Over the course of your seven-hour session, you’ll start with the basics of working with hot glass, and try the tools required to master it. First up, you’ll set about shaping and colouring a solid ornamental piece, like a paperweight.
With your new skills at the ready, you’ll put them to work creating a trickier blown piece, like a vase. There are regular breaks throughout to refocus, and plenty of tea and coffee along the way.
Please note: Any glass items made by you will have to be annealed overnight, so they cannot be taken away at the end of the day. Your glass can be forwarded at a cost of £20 payable on the day, if for any reason the glass does not survive annealing, the £20 cost of grinding, packing and shipping will be refunded back to you. Unfortunately Glass work cannot be kept for collection.
