About this experience
Chocks away! Get ready to relive history with the flight of a lifetime, aboard one of only 53 Spitfire airworthy models left in the world. To this day, the sight and sound of the Spitfire is like no other. Epitomising Britain’s fighting spirit during the Battle of Britain and WWII, its Rolls Royce Merlin Engine and graceful cockpit cover are instantly recognisable as Britain’s front line fighter in the darkest of times.
With a 30-minute chock-to-chock passenger flight and 20 minutes airborne, you’ll get to experience everything from the roar of the engine to spellbinding views out over its iconic elliptical wing. Flown by a current or ex-RAF pilot, you can rest assured you’ll be in safe hands, and as your location benefits from no commercial traffic, you’ll feel like you have the skies all to yourself. The aerodrome has plenty of space, so bring along all your friends and family to witness you on this unforgettable experience.

What happens on the day?
You can choose to take your flight from either Epping, Essex, or Headcorn, Kent. On arrival at your chosen location, you’ll be greeted by your pilot before being taken out to the Spitfire. Before this phenomenal experience kicks off, you’ll be given a full briefing and an extensive introduction to the aircraft.
Don a flight suit and parachute before stepping into your legendary machine. From there, it’s onwards and upwards as your experienced RAF pilot navigates you through the skies. With 30 minutes chock-to-chock and 20 minutes airborne, there’s plenty of time to take in the spectacular sights around you – and lenient local flight height restrictions mean your flight has the option of being fully aerobatic. Feel free to bring your family and friends along to witness you on your flight – there’s plenty of space for everyone, and they’ll get an excellent viewing of the runway and aircraft.
Once safely landed, you’ll receive a Squadron Print signed by your pilot, before bidding farewell and heading home with a head full of fantastic memories.
