What happens on the day?
On arrival at The Athenaeum’s restaurant, you’ll be warmly welcomed and shown to your pre-booked table.
Soak up the surroundings as you dine on five courses of best-of-British cuisine, brimming with delicious flavours and served with creative flair.

Availability
The voucher can be used seven days a week throughout the year. Exclusions including Public Holidays, New Year’s Eve and Valentine’s Day will apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Amazing Flavours
Enjoyed a delightful evening dinner experience full of amazing flavors and perfectly balanced with the accompanying wines. Staff were attentive and friendly and restaurant easy in a great location easy to find.

Excellent service
The hotel restaurant is clean and followed social distancing guidelines, I felt safe and relaxed in the environment. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and expertly presented, especially the pasta, and they accommodated my special dietary requirements.

WOW!
We had been given the voucher for a five course tasting menu so, as it was in a five star hotel we were expecting an interesting experience. We were not disappointed. We were attended by Barry, the restaurant manager. We discussed with him if we should upgrade our experience with the wine pairing. It seemed a no brainer and at £30 each we thought it would be worth adding. Barry helped to make the experience even better than it might have been.

A very pleasant experience
We went to celebrate my daughters 30th birthday and had planned a 5 course tasting lunch. When we arrived we were told that this won’t be available anymore (we should have been informed beforehand) but we could now have our food chosen from the usual menu. At first we were disappointed but after we got over this we actually had a very nice meal and would recommend the food. The decor is pleasant and we had a lovely afternoon with great food and friendly and good service. Recommend 👍

Disappointing and Underwhelming
Food was trying to be fancy but ultimately mostly flavorless, with a sickly sweet dessert that neither of us managed to eat. If I had been paying for the meal I would have complained. Also it would have been cheaper to order the tasting menu and pay in cash than to use the voucher - the menu direct in the restaurant would have cost £40 per person, but was marked up for the "Virgin Experience Menu" to £66 per person in order to use up the whole voucher. In sum: bad food, overpriced. Avoid.

A celebration
The food was amazing! The service was not. Arrived 30 minutes early and was told to wait in the bar even though the restaurant was three-quarters empty. Service was very slow and the food was delivered with a muttered comment. When the bill arrived the service charge had been added to the cost of the food before the voucher was deducted. We asked for this to be removed so that we only paid for the drinks. By the end of the evening we just wanted to get away which was a shame
