Follow in the footsteps of rebels and legends with a Family Visit to Nottingham Castle.

In the Ducal Palace, step back in time to journey through 1000 years of local history. Discover world-class collections in the Creative Galleries and experience three of Nottingham’s most rebellious and bloody episodes in the Rebellion Gallery, telling the story of the people of Nottingham and their inherent rebel spirit.
You will be allocated a 30 minute time slot in which to explore Robin Hood Adventures. With an atmospheric tunnel entrance, impressive mixed reality longbow and quarterstaff experiences, in-the-round storytelling of the medieval ballads and digital gaming tables, it’s the best way to immerse yourselves in the legend of Robin Hood. Also included is a 25 minute tour exploring the foundations of the former medieval castle, which was destroyed following the British Civil War. Hear tales of Nottingham and its historic castle in the underground caves where the events actually took place.

What happens on the day?

You will arrive at the Visitor Centre before being granted access to Nottingham Castle and grounds.

Your ticket permits you access to world-class collections of fine and decorative arts shown in the exhibitions and galleries in the Ducal Palace and the Castle’s historic green spaces.

As part of your experience, you will be allocated a 30-minute time slot in which to explore Robin Hood Adventures and a 25-minute tour exploring the foundations of the former medieval castle.

Ticket valid for 2 adults and up to 3 children
Under 17s must be accompanied by a full paying adult
Children under 5 are free but must be pre-booked
Nottingham Castle and its grounds are entirely wheelchair friendly, except the Cave Tours
Well behaved dogs are allowed in the Castle grounds. They must be kept on leads. Support dogs are welcome inside the Ducal Palace and in other indoor areas

Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

This experience is available daily throughout the year. Excluded dates including 25 and 26 December and 1 January will apply.

September to October: 10.00 to 17.00

Last admission is one hour before closing time.

We advise to allow a full day for your visit to the Castle.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
