Overview
East London Liquor Company are proud to present their Whisky Lover’s Tour and Tasting for two at their distillery in Bow Wharf. Visting the first whisky, gin and vodka distillery in East London (the city’s historic distilling district) in over 110 years offers the chance to witness part of London’s whisky revival. With their in-house brewery, distillery and bottle shop (which hosts a wide range of gins, vodkas, rums and, of course, whiskies from around the world), expect a spirited and informative visit to this award-winning East London destination.
You will have the rare behind-the-scenes opportunity to explore every step of the process during a tour of the brewery and distillery. You will then head downstairs to their tasting room to discover the secrets of barrel-ageing while tasting whiskies from around the world.

What happens on the day?
When you arrive in Bow Wharf, make your way to the bar that is now home to East London Liquor Company. There, you will be welcomed and served an old fashioned cocktail as the Whisky Lovers Tour and Tasting starts.
During the tour, you’ll learn about how they go about producing their whisky and then through a led tasting, you will discover the secrets of barrel-ageing while tasting whiskies from around the world.
Before or after your experience, why not reserve a table in East London Liquor Company's highly-acclaimed restaurant for a bite to eat?
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
This experience is run every fourth Friday of the month at 18.30, and every saturday at 16.30. Exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 1 hour 30 minutes for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Whisky 🥃 Tasting
Had a great afternoon Learning the brewing process of different whiskys from around the world The tour guide Jess was funny and a fountain of information and was very informative and answered all the questions with out hesitation got to taste different whiskey s from around the world and now know what to look for when ordering whiskey in the pub so much so that the bottle of whiskey I bought is going down really well at home

Excellent Afternoon
Excellent Afternoon spent tasting Whiskies. Was met in the bar area by the great staff. Had a couple of drinks before we started. Started the tour and was given a complimentary whiskey cocktail to drink whilst learning about the process. We then went downstairs to taste various whiskeys hosted by our fantastic tour guide. Spent about 40mins or so tasting various types. On the whole and excellent afternoon. My only small criticism is the bar can get quite loud.

Rose was absolutely fantastic and very knowledgable! She made it really fun and interesting and my partner and I enjoyed the whole experience, even myself who isn't a fan of whiskey!

Whisky tour
Whisky tour by Rose was informative and fun. Shame there was none of their own whisky to taste. but as they are relatively new to Whisky distilling, it had sold out and new batches were in progress. This didn't stop us tasting a variety of blends from mild to ones that were smoking. We also had the opportunity to taste some of their rum and gin. A good afternoon out

New experience
Visited East London Liquor Co. for distillery tour and Whisky tasting. Jess the tour manager was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Started with cocktail followed by tour of distillery. Only small place but still interesting to see and understand the process. Tour finished with opportunity to taste 5 different whiskys selected from all round the world. Only criticism is, that we were unable to taste their own whisky as production takes 3 years and 1 day at least and only opened in 2014.

Whiskey tasting tour
Had a wonderful tour. Didn’t know what to expect but the staff were welcoming and very knowledgeable enjoyed all of the tour. Especially at the end having a few drinks in the bar afterwards. Would recommend it in a heartbeat. They do gin and rum tours as well.

A Great Birthday Gift
A great welcome on arrival by our excellent tour guide. A quick name check and explanation of the pending tour, myself and my guest were shown to a table and served with a first class whisky cocktail... The tour was incredibly educational with every question answered in a very friendly manner, no stone was left unturned with regard to the brewery, history, distillery and products.. The tasting session was very professional and informative. I came away from the tour with more whisky knowledge!

Fun and informative
My fiance and I had a great time at the whisky tasting tour. It was a small group of four on the tour which made it really easy-going and fun. Learnt a lot and got to sample a whole range of delicious whiskies. Well worth checking out if you're a whisky fan.

Brilliant Tour
I received a voucher for the Whisky Lover's Tour and Tasting as a present from my fiancee, and went last weekend. We had a fantastic time, and our guide Alexander was very knowledgeable and entertaining. My fiancee is not a whisky drinker (at all!) but soon Alexander had her finding tasting notes in 6 different whiskies with great enthusiasm! I really enjoyed the selection too, and have found a couple of new favourites for the future. Thoroughly recommended to whisky lovers and novices!

Very enjoyable
The tour takes one and a half hours. The first 40 mins are in the distillery and we got to learn about the process from start to finish. The distillery is only small so there is very little walking. Next we got to sample some different whiskeys and learn a little more about the variations. Unfortunately none were from the distillery itself. The next batch is still maturing. But we did get to taste some of their rum which was very good. Our guide Rose was knowledgeable and good fun.

Visit to the London Liquor Company
The event was well presented by Jess who had a very good knowledge on most aspects of the company and its brewing capability. Because it is a smaller micro brewary it had no selaction of Whiskeys locally brewed and even the ones demonstated in the tasing where unavailable for purchase. I would suggest this is improved as once you have tried and liked a particular Malt it was frustrating to find there was none available to purchase in the shop! It also is bad business if a sale or two are lost

A great birthday present
Very knowledgeable presenter with a good whisky selection for tasting. Would love to have sampled their own whisky but they are a bit young and will not be released until the brewers are happy with the product ... hence the four stars and not five. Very friendly staff and great food.
