Design Your Own Hand Crafted Shoes with The Hand Dyed Shoe Company

Hidden within the grand buildings of Ushaw College in the historic city of Durham, you’ll find The Hand Dyed Shoe Company, as seen on Dragons’ Den. Welcomed with complimentary drinks on arrival, you’ll begin with a thorough design consultation.

Following your bespoke measure and fitting service, you’ll be able to take your pick of over 35 styles and a wide variety of materials, colours and textures to create your own one-of-a-kind shoes and the opportunity to upgrade if you wish. You’ll be able to see what your shoes will look like beforehand thanks to some amazing technology, all brought to life on a big screen, just to make sure they’re exactly what you want. You’ll be given helpful tips on aftercare and maintaining shoe quality, before your shoes are hand crafted and ready for collection roughly 4 to 6 weeks later.

Please note your shoes can be sent by post at an additional charge of £7.95.

We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes for the consultation.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
