The Bombay Sapphire Distillery in rural Hampshire is where the world-famous gin is made. You'll start your experience on a tour with a Distillery Host where you'll discover fascinating history about Bombay Sapphire and gin. See the ten exotic botanicals at work in the Glasshouses and Botanical Dry Room, before hearing about all the rare Vapour Infusion process used to make Bombay Sapphire gin.
Having immersed yourselves in the history and of the gin, you’ll be ready to taste some. Your experience culminates in The Mill Bar, where you can sip a gin cocktail each as you watch the river roll by.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at the Laverstoke Mill, you’ll be greeted by a distillery host who will take you on a tour of the Bombay Sapphire Distillery where you will learn about the history, botanicals and production processes which make Bombay Sapphire so special. Finish up in The Mill Bar with a gin cocktail each.
Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 18
- ID may be requested - failure to present ID will result in refused entry
- Please be aware that the majority of the distillery tour will be standing. There are seats available at various points throughout the tour, but please inform the distillery in advance if you have any access needs
- The distillery is proud to say that it offers full access to disabled guests and this has been a major factor in the design of the distillery experience. Manual wheelchairs are available for loan on the premises free of charge. If you require the use of a wheelchair please contact the distillery in advance
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
The tour is available Sunday to Friday. Date exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least three months in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

The Bombay Sapphire Gin Tour
This was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon out and we would recommend it to anyone who loves Bombay Sapphire Gin. You start the tour with a choice of gin cocktail! Or you can opt to take one home with you. You learn about how they make the gin from your tour guide as you walk you around the site and into the amazing greenhouses that grow the botanicals. You can opt to have more cocktails in their stunning bar and buy your favourites in the shop to take home! Loved it!

Fantastic birthday gift
Wow, what a fantastic experience. A late birthday present, but we’ll worth the wait. I think the dreaded covid restricted part of the tour, but still a lovely time. So much history around this place, pure craft. Staff lovely too.

Great experience!
The Bombay Sapphire Tour was fantastic. It’s in a beautiful location, was very well organised, interesting and very enjoyable. It has a lovely cafe where we had a sharing ploughman’s platter which was really lovely. The gin and tonic you choose and make for yourself was rather good too! Good value…I would definitely recommend it.

Great day at Bombay Sapphire distillery
My wife and I had a great day at the Bombay Sapphire distillery. Tour guide was excellent and visit was very informative. Tasted some great gins and came away with 2 varieties and 4 very nice glasses. Can highly recommend the whole experience which took about 90 mins

Excellent tour, very informative.
Excellent tour, very informative, with real hands on experience of the products used to infuse the product. The guide's knowledge of the history of the product, the history of the site, and the botanicals was amazing.

Great tour guide and a lovely time had.
Fantastic time at this experience, my wife brought me this as a birthday present and finally got round to attending the Mill in Laverstoke! Nice and easy to find from entering the village either side and no issues parking at all. Everything is nice and clearly signed when you get out of the car too! Lovely welcome when we got into the building by the staff and didn't have to wait long at all. Very pleasant tour guide who knew it all well and drinks at the end to top it off! We will be back!

A great afternoon out
Absolutely loved the Bombay Sapphire tour and grounds. Was a Christmas gift and well worth the wait. Finished the tour off with a gin cocktail and visit to the gift shop.

Beating all expectations
On a beautiful September day our trip to Bommbay Sapphire was outstanding. Staff brilliant, guide fluent and knowledgeable, lunch delicious and cocktails- we had 4 different ones so we could all have a taste, and all were delicious. Thank you for a great day - and for letting us -bank' it during the pandemic. We loved it and recommend d it unreservedly.

Excellent Experience
Originally 'self-discovery' the tour has been modified under Covid precautions and is now escorted by guides with groups of 12 visitors. A much better arrangement in a delightful setting. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and entertaining. The gin cocktail after the tour finished things off nicely. (Note, drivers can have a non-alcoholic cocktail and are given a take-away G&T for later). Thoroughly recommended.

I do like my Gin so a great opportunity to see where it was made & how. Tour guide was really well informed and provided an informative & interesting tour. Finished off with a lovely cocktail of Bombay Sapphire, Martini Fiero and soda with an orange slice, new fave summer drink!

Best Distillery Visit
Loved the distillery, it was such an enjoyable day learning about the history of Bombay Sapphire and how it all comes together in a distillery. The cocktails at the end were absolutely delicious. We even ordered another one as it was so good. Definitely would recommend this experience.

fantastic tour of a gorgeous distillery built around a large victorian mill - some parts Grade 2 listed. Fascinating talk, very well organised and informative. Excellent and reasonably priced lunch with complimentary cocktails by the river Test. What is not like!! Highly recommended

Lovely day and lovely Gin!
What a great place to visit! The tour was interesting and educational and it was good to look at all the botanicals. We had the option to get tapas for lunch, which was great and the cocktail was lovely, although a limited selection. It’s a shame, due to Covid, that we couldn’t look around the still (as we did on our last visit) and that the museum was closed for refurbishment. Definitely worth a visit if you love your Gin!

Great afternoon out
Bombay sapphire distillery tour, what a great afternoon out. An hour and a half to two hours, and very informative, I learnt a lot. The staff are very friendly and know there stuff. The gin cocktail at the end was very nice and the gift centre was very reasonably priced.

Superb day out
Having been gifted this experience, I had ‘nothing to lose’ but would return - great value for money! Nothing was a disappointment. The natural beauty, with the Test River running through the venue, is uplifting and the tour worthwhile. The guide shared interesting detail regarding the history of both building and distillery- fascinated both my 24 yr old and myself! Relaxing on the terrace with our gin cocktail of choice afterwards, was just perfect! The gift shop offered much too! Just do it!

Great and informative tour
The tour of the distillery was so good, our guide was very passionate and it was amazing to hear the history of the distillery. Then we got to smell lots of different scents to then be able to choose our free cocktails. It was a smallish group which meant it was easy to ask questions if needed afterwards. The cocktails after were very unique and the shop was great to have a look at too. The location is beautiful, well worth a visit!

Interesting Tour
Efficient check in even in these strange times! Good tour guide who was knowledgeable and added humour to the tour which I think is essential otherwise they could become boring. Ending with a complementary gin which through a "smell test" you choose on the tour.

Didn’t disappoint!!
Had a really good day at the Distillery. More interesting than I thought it would be. Had a few issues with finding our booking, due to a system failure, however the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The overall experience was very enjoyable.

Excellent tour and tour guide. History of historical site of distillery, Bombay Sapphire company and the wonderful processing all very interesting and informative. Experience moving around the site excellent. Lovely drinks experience in bar mocktails or cocktails. Beautiful venue.. river Test running through the site. Beautiful glass houses .

Excellent Tout
Booked the Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery Tour for my bday and it was fantastic. The covid safe rules put in place were excellent. The warm welcoming reception we had on arrival was lovely. Our tour guide was superb and the cocktail at the end of it was amazing. Despite the awful weather, we had a great afternoon out. I would highly recommend the experience. Thank you ladies and gents for making my day a memorable one. No complaints. And we bought a bottle of the new gin to take home with us!!

Informative and well organised Distillery Tour
Very well organised experience,we were provided with a huge amount of information by the tour guide regarding the buildings, grounds and of course distilling the gin! The staff were polite and helpful and we felt very safe when being shown around the buildings. We ordered a small snack which was delivered at the end of the tour, with our name on the items and all securely packaged. Plenty of sanitizer available - produced on site!
