You’ll join the Carnivore Keepers inside the House enclosure for a roarsome hand feed with one of the big cats – this could be a Sumatran Tiger, Snow Leopard, Jaguar or African Lion! Whilst you learn all about them, you’ll feed them and learn insider information about these loveable cats from the friendly keepers. You may even get the chance to capture the perfect souvenir pic.
If you’re a fan of unique experiences, hand-feeding big cats is definitely one to tick off the bucket list. Your experience also includes all day entry to the zoo, where you can see the other 1000 residents from Endangered Giant Anteater Joaos to Red Pandas to Kordofan Giraffes. What happens on the day?
On arrival at South Lakes Safari Zoo, you’ll be warmly greeted by the keepers ready for your handfeeding experience. First up, you’ll head to the House enclosure to meet the big cat that you’ll be feeding. This may be a Sumatran Tiger, Snow Leopard, Jaguar or African Lion.
Friendly keepers will be on hand sharing insider knowledge about their individual likes, dislikes and quirks. Then it’s time to handfeed them their favourite snack. Your experience also includes all-day entry to the zoo where you can see plenty more wonderful species.

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
