Feel like a WWII fighter pilot in training in the cockpit of a Harvard, and take to the skies of Kent for an aerobatic flight that will look as amazing as it feels with this Aerobatic Classic Fighter Plane Experience.
The Harvard took the place of the Tiger Moth for trainee RAF fighter pilots in the shadow of the Second World War, as it’s much more powerful and far closer to a fighter jet than the Tiger Moth could ever be. A 600hp engine means almost twice the speed (over 200mph), and you’ll quickly get into the fighter pilot mindset as you’re racing above the ground and undertaking some stomach-churning manoeuvres.
It’s not just a flight in the plane on offer here, as you’ll also be able to take the stick and fly the bird during your 20 minute flight. Your fighter pilot immersion will be helped by the WWII-style parachute you’ll be wearing over the course of your experience, and your expert pilot will be able to give you the lowdown on all of your plane’s history and capabilities.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at the chosen airfield in Ashford you’ll be greeted by your pilot before being kitted out in all the necessary gear.
A safety briefing will get you up to speed before you clamber into the cockpit, and from there it’s nothing but thrills as you take off, fly, manoeuvre and land during an exceptional 20 minutes in a Harvard.

Participant guidelines
- Minimum age: 16
- Minimum height: 4ft 7in
- Maximum height: 6ft 3in
- Maximum weight: 20 stone
- There are no specific medical requirements but if in doubt please consult your doctor. You must be physically able to climb in and out of the aircraft
- Spectators are welcome, and facilities on site usually include the availability of hot drinks and snacks
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location
Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.
This experience is available on selected dates throughout the flying season. Please note flying time in this classic aircraft is restricted to help preserve and maintain the aircraft, hence availability is strictly limited.
We recommend you book at least eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 1 hour for this experience - the flight itself will last approximately 20 minutes (chock to chock).
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
