60 minute Tiger Moth Trial Lesson
About this experience
Jump into a 1930s flying classic and experience the start of a WWII fighter pilot’s journey high above the English countryside with this 60 minute Tiger Moth Trial Lesson.
The de Havilland Tiger Moth was the ideal training aircraft for budding RAF pilots, forgiving in the early stages of flight while requiring skill and concentration to get the most out of the vehicle. As you’ll be sitting in an open cockpit you’ll feel the wind through your hair as you cruise at altitude, and you’ll be thankful the Tiger Moth can ‘only’ go 109mph at top speed! You’ll be fully kitted out to keep you from being too cold, and your WWII-style parachute will help you get into the fighter pilot mindset.
An expert pilot will take you through the manoeuvres necessary to navigate the air above Ashford, and you’ll even be able to take the controls yourself for a bit of hands-on flight time too.

“60 minute Tiger Moth flight.”
This was a birthday present which I was really looking forward to. The weather was good and I flew in a 1934 Tiger Moth down to Folkestone, along to Dover and past the White Cliffs before turning back and undertaking the return journey. A particular highlight was a couple of tight turns round the Battle Of Britain Memorial at Capel le Ferne. My pilot, John, was really friendly and made me very welcome. This was an absolutely fabulous gift experience and one I would recommend.
“Tiger Moth Experience - Headcorn”
Five star every step of the way. People on the phone were patient and informative, when I arrived, couldn't have been made to feel more welcome, catered for my spectator family like they were old friends. Richard, the pilot, was so welcoming, happy to chat about a multitude of things, great tour guide and clearly loved what he did. When we landed, he told me to stay in the plane while they brought my family out for photos. Then we had coffee and tea in the hut before a shake of hands as we left.
