30 minute Tiger Moth Flight and IWM Duxford Entry
- Flexible Booking
- Instant Delivery
- Free Exchanges
Overview
Take a 30 minute flight in a classic open cockpit Tiger Moth at a previous RAF airfield. This aircraft is a 1930s model and was used by the RAF as a primary trainer. The location in Duxford also saw real war-time action during the Battle of Britain and is rich in history. It is now home to Europe’s leading aviation museum where you can unearth an exceptional gathering of over 150 historic aircrafts from Biplanes and Spitfires to Concords, with free entry.
These days the majority of Tiger Moths are privately owned in Britain, so this is a rare chance for you to take a flight in such a marvellous plane. Add a leather flying jacket, goggles and a helmet to the mix and you’re all set for a ride of pure nostalgia. Soaring above the commotion of modern life it will be easy to envisage yourself time travelling back to the 1930's. Your experience is made all the more incredible by being given the chance to fly this historic beauty yourself.

Unforgettable experience in the tiger moth
This was an amazing day, very well organised. The ground crew prepared you well, then the amazing flight. Amanda my pilot was very friendly and professional, great pilot. Flying above Cambridgeshire fields with the open cockpit was an unforgettable experience. Had about 15 minutes flying the plane myself, hard work but rewarding. Even the in flight video seemed reasonably priced, no pressure to purchase. Thoroughly recommended!

A fantastic experience, enjoyed every minute!
I can't recommend this highly enough. Both the office staff and instructor were super-friendly and welcoming. Flying in any open-cockpit aircraft would be a special experience, but a Tiger Moth has to be the best way to do it. Got loads of stick time, and enjoyed every moment of it. Would love to do it again.

Mr.
Welcome and hospitality were excellent. Pilot Pete Hughes and all staff were friendly and keen to make this a worthwhile experience. Weather fine and warm. Goggles were a poor fit spoiling the view and vision which slightly spoilt the experience. Pilot was anxious to ensure the best experience was provided - which was greatly appreciated. The aircraft was showing its age; altimeter in front cockpit was u/s. I was shocked to learn that my relatives had paid £270 for 30 minutes flight.

Wow
What a surprise. Some might say an antique jalopy, but don't be deceived. What I experienced was real flying with a skilled (commercial) pilot. It was exciting plus learnt a great deal.

Exhilarating with a slight downer at the end
Wasn't expecting to be able to take the controls of the tiger moth, which was exciting and terrifying in equal measure. The old technology of the plane really brings the joy of flying right in front of you. They also record the whole flight so you can see yourself at the controls. I was very happy about that, but then you have to pay £50 for an SD card with the video on it. This is price gouging and left an unpleasant taste at the end of a wonderful experience.
