20 minute Tiger Moth Flight and IWM Duxford Entry
About this experience
Take a 20 minute flight in a vintage open cockpit aircraft at a former RAF fighter airfield. Steeped in history, this location in Duxford saw plenty of action during the Battle of Britain. It is now home to Europe’s premier aviation museum where you can discover an outstanding collection of over 150 historic aircraft from Biplanes and Spitfires to Concords, with free entry.
Most Tiger Moths in Britain are privately owned so revel in the rare chance of a flight in one of these fabulous planes. Throw in a leather flying jacket, goggles and a helmet and you are ready for a ride of pure nostalgia. High above the bustle of modern life it will be easy to imagine you’ve time travelled back to the 1930's. To add to this amazing experience you will be given the chance to try flying the vintage beauty yourself.

Upon arrival at the famous Duxford airfield you will be greeted by your pilot and receive a short briefing. Put on your vintage flying gear and head over to the airfield… it’s time to climb aboard your aircraft. Your pilot will fly you up to the skies and demonstrate a few manoeuvres whilst you enjoy the scenery below. This is not just a scenic tour, as if you are feeling brave enough you will have the opportunity to take the controls, before the two of you head back to firm ground. You will then have time to enjoy the museum at your leisure.

“Chocks Away!”
What a fantastic experience! They got me strapped in and we were in the air flying at 2000ft in no time. Bob, my captain through the intercom said “you have control” and there I was holding level flight, executing left and right turns over Cambridgeshire. Bob guided me back to Duxford where he took control back on final approach. Warning this could be addictive…
“My flight in a Classic Wings Tiger Moth”
A fantastic experience and the Staff were excellent. In particular, the young pilot was so enthusiastic and informative and it is a day I will never forget. In fact, I would love to go up again. My brother was flying in a second Moth at the same time as me and he loved it. In addition we had a great time looking round IWM Duxford. What a fantastic place.
