Two Night Break with Dinner for Two at The Ennerdale Country House Hotel
Overview
That’s ‘Ennerdale’, with an ‘n’, so you won’t be experiencing any fictional farm-related drama on this Two Night Break with Dinner for Two at the Ennerdale Country House Hotel.
The Ennerdale Country House Hotel is a Grade II listed building, filled with antique furniture and character with five acres of landscaped gardens and Italian fountains. From there you can travel around the stunning Lake District and visit some of the many attractions on the West Coast of England, including the pretty seaside town of St. Bees and the end/start of the Coast to Coast Walk.
On the first evening enjoy £25 each towards your dinner which will be served in the Ennerdale’s Fountain Room Restaurant, which overlooks the hotel gardens, and on both mornings you’ll both have a full English breakfast to ready you for each day ahead.

Could have been very different
On arrival at the hotel reception the Ennerdale were not expecting us because for some reason Virgin had cancelled our stay prior to our arrival. The hotel managed to accommodate us only because they had spare rooms available. We enjoyed our stay but the result could have been very different if it had been in high season.

A very good experience
A lovely two night break, the facilities were good as was the standard of cleanliness, and friendly staff. Breakfast was just right. An evening meal in the hotel restaurant was included on our first night, it was so good that we ate again their on our second night. Just one slight niggle... the bar didn't have any Baileys in stock which was a shame because I always like to finish off a good meal with my favourite tipple.

Lovely relaxing two night break
Had a lovely relaxing stay all staff we found friendly. Stayed in room 18 a family room. Though we didn't need this it was nice to have a spacious, bright and airy room. The room was clean and had tea & coffee making facilities including shortbread and it was topped up the next day. Dinner was included on the first night and it was lovely. We had breakfast both mornings again lovely. Only thing is location as there is nothing round about and it's about 20miles from the nearest town.

An interesting break
The Experience break was a Fathers' Day gift, and it came at a time when we were needing a break from our busy inner-city lives. We enjoyed the comfort of a spacious room at the Ennerdale Country House Hotel and the generous meals, and we got to know a new bit of Cumbria.

Weekend break at Ennerdale Cojntry House Hotel.
Limited dinner menu. Curtains did not close properly in bedroom. One night - after dinner coffee served in stained mugs. Other 2 nights coffee was served in a cafetiere. Hotel very clean. Hotel staff polite, helpful and friendly. Lovely garden.

Dog friendly
Really enjoyed our 3 night stay in this dog friendly hotel. Comfortable room, very friendly staff. Nice that we can have breakfast in the room which made things easier with the dog. Just ask for the breakfast menu the night before and you hang it outside your door. Would be 5 stars but the food we had in the evening wasn't great. Overall though very pleased and I would recommend this place if you have a dog as there were many there!

Great hospitality
We read the reviews and thought no where could be that friendly. We were wrong. Every member of staff was helpful, cheerful, friendly and outgoing. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was so relaxed and friendly. So many lovely touches like blankets for sitting on the lawn. The food was perfect and very well presented. The building is a bit tired in places but I think it all added to the charm of the place. We will definitely be going back.

Some good things but remote
Comfortable but if intending to visit lakes too far away. Rooms on 1st floor need to go up steep flight of stairs no lift. Cold on first night no heating working single glazed windows radiator set to full but no heat. Menu very limited but fine as we were only staying 2 nights and no where local alternative. Shower over bath had problem with thermostat and difficult for my wife stepping into a bath - she is 70.

Tired establishment
Arrived on Friday 5th October for a 2 night stay. The bedroom at the hotel was called “Scafell” but we only had a view of the bins. The steak I had for dinner was tough and the fondant my wife had for dessert was over cooked and no longer fondant .Both of our beds needed new mattresses as they were so worn you could feel the bedframe . There were black lampshades on table lamps with low power bulbs! Staff were informed but nothing happened Recommendation:: avoid at all costs
