Urban Beekeeping and Honey Craft Beer Tasting for Two
Overview
Enter the Hiver Experience: discover the secrets of urban beekeeping in the heart of London and follow up with a tutored honey beer and food matching session with Hiver Beers. After learning a bit about beekeeping in the city, you’ll be ready to inspect the hive with the resident beekeeper. Great Experience
If like me, you are interested in Gardening and looking after the enviroment, then you will love this day. Its fascinating being able to get up close with the Bee's and watch their busy lives in the hive. It also highlights the amount of enemies they have in the form of Wasps, Hornets and parasites. It was lovely to then sit down and enjoy tasting some Honey Beers from the local brewery in Bermondsey.

A wonderful intro into beekeeping!
Bought this experience for my friend's birthday and it definitely lived up to expectations. We had a lovely intro into the types of bees they look after, how to maintain a hive, and got to see the honey and bees up close. The group size was 8 which was perfect. It was then followed up by a lovely beer tasting experience and explanation of the honey and beer-making process. Highly recommend!

Really interesting and enjoyable experience
Enjoyed a really relaxing and informative bee and beer experience at the Albourne Estate. Amy was engaging and obviously passionate about bee keeping, very knowledgable. Floriane led us through a lovely tasting experience sampling Hivers unique and delicious beer and ale selection. Highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in beer or bees...or both!

Meet the bees (and the beer!)
Visiting Bee Urban for an introduction to keeping bees was a really enjoyable couple of hours spent in the company of friendly people and a great team who made us very welcome at the venue. Jack's knowledge of beekeeping and his ability to impart information in addition to demonstrating some basics of beekeeping were excellent and the honey beer tasting session was a brilliant introduction to to the art of making craft beers and to learning more about honey itself. Highly recommended - thanks!

A really fabulous day-it left me ‘buzzing,’
The experience started with information about the bees and kitting up, to be properly protected against being stung. Then it’s down to opening a hive-experiencing how to handle the bees and getting up close to view the wax, the honey and the bee larvae. This was really interesting and really exciting too! Finally, a trial of different honey beers (created by ‘Hivers’ ), together with some tasty snacks make for a brilliant experience, which is well worth booking!

Fantastic Experience, Highly Recommended
This was such a lovely afternoon that I'm still buzzing (sorry!). The team are so knowledgable, friendly and enthusiastic and the group was small and intimate. We had the chance to get incredibly possible to - and handle - the bees, to really understand how they work and see them in action. The beer-tasting afterwards was lovely as well; the whole afternoon was just an absolute joy.

Fun and informative
Great couple of hours learning about the bees and tasting the beer. Barnaby was really knowledgable and it was great to get close up and personal with the bees and learn the workings of a hive. Honey beer tasting was fun (and the beer is good) but we were glad that we ran over time and spent longer with the bees as that was what we were most interested in. Happy that we got to be so hands-on. Home now, ready to drink the beer and plant the flowers to help protect the bees.

A good afternoon out
A great afternoon learning about bees and seeing them in their own home. The bees are a lot quieter than expected. Very knowledgeable staff, for both the bees and beer. The honeys had amazing tastes. Well worth it.

Brilliant
Fantastic experience to get close to the bees and the hives. Found out lots of information about our beautiful bees and why we should look after them. Beer tasting was great who wouldn't say no to a free beer! Very informative and interesting to learn how the beer is produced. The place is in a wonderful setting and is totally insect and bee friendly. Would highly recommend.

Really amazing time!
We had a fantastic couple of hours with the lovely people at Bee Urban, learning about honey bees and other pollinators. Handling the frames, inspecting the bees and brood and trying to spot the Queen was really interesting and something I never thought I would do. And the paired honey beer tasting was so good - particularly after a good 45 mins in the bee suits! I learned a lot and would thoroughly recommend this experience - I enjoyed it so much that I may well go back for a second visit!

Average
Hardly any time was spent at the bee hives. Did not get a chance to hold the slats the bees congregate on, just observed the bee keeper opening up a hive. Tasted a beer and an ale and smelts various components of the drinks. Something to do I suppose.
