Stand Up Paddleboarding Experience on The Thames at Richmond
Overview
Discover one of the Thames’ most beautiful stretches from a whole new angle, with this private Paddleboard Experience on the Thames at Richmond.
You'll be given a safety briefing and some land-based training including paddle techniques from some of the country’s most experienced paddleboarding coaches, before heading out onto the water. Accompanied by your guide, you’ll paddle from Richmond Bridge, either upstream towards Eel Pie Island and Teddington, or downstream towards Isleworth, Kew Gardens and Chiswick.
This two hour paddleboarding session offers idyllic views of Richmond from a unique vantage point and by the end of the session, you’ll be standing-up and paddleboarding like a pro.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Active360 Richmond, you’ll be greeted by a member of staff before completing some basic paperwork. You’ll receive a safety introduction and some quick land-based training, before heading out on the river on your paddleboard. Your guide will quickly teach you to stand up, and then lead you along one of the most beautiful stretches on the Thames.
Participant guidelines
- The experience is suitable for paddlers of all ages (10-80) and abilities, from complete beginners, to those who have paddled many times before.
- Children over 10 are welcome if they are accompanied on the water by a parent or legal guardian.
- No height or weight restrictions, however the boards can carry a maximum of 120kg
- Spectators are welcome and can watch from the river bank, and are able to follow the progress pof the participants from the towpath.

Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience before the expiry date.
This experience is available seven days a week throughout the year. Date exclusions may apply.
We recommend you book at least 1 week in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
