What happens on the day?
Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a member of the team and shown to your pod. Each pod has plenty of headroom and a floor area of approximately seven square metres - ample space for two people or even two adults and two small children.
The pod is designed to accommodate the variable British weather with ventilation for the hot days and lamb's wool insulation for the colder weather -a wooden 'tent' for all seasons. A pod also offers a higher level of security than a canvas tent so all you need to bring is your camping gear including your beds and bedding and enjoy.
Participant guidelines
- Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult
- Due to the rural location the experience is not suitable for wheelchair users
- Unfortunately, since the area is surrounded by grazing farmland, pets are not allowed on site
- Please note: guide dogs for the blind and hearing dogs for profoundly deaf people will be accepted by prior arrangement
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Great site
The camping pod was great. Clean and enough room for two of us to have a very comfortable night. The bath was great and the pizza and bacon sandwiches were just perfect

A Great Getaway
After all that's gone on over the last year we took a chance on a few days away. We weren't disappointed. The site is exceptional and even though there were still covid restrictions it didn't really impact our break...Many thanks to the team.

Lovely night away!
Me and my boyfriend spent one night in a glamping pod at the site & it was just what we needed to escape day to day life and just experience how peaceful and beautiful the site is. The stay was amazing - the guys there are super helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back and are currently looking at going to one of their hobbit holes available on the site, except I think we’ll go in summer next time to experience more!

The Quiet Site
We loved our stay at the Quiet Site. The staff were fab, the setting was beautiful and the Quiet Bar was perfect with reasonable priced drinks, a roaring fire and board games. The plastic free shop is great too and we got coffee and homemade croissants the following morning which were delicious. Toilet amenities great too, and recycling. The hut itself was very sweet, and blocked out all noise from outside (cosy considering it was raining) BUT, it was very cold despite the heating.

Fantastic site and friendly people
The Quiet Site is the friendliest camp site I've been on. Excellent facilities and the Hobbit Holes are fabulous. I would recommend this site to anyone and will certainly go back. The site is dog friendly and they welcomed myself and my mate on our motorbikes. All of the staff are pleasant and helpful and they have great ecofriendly practices. Stunning views and as the name suggests peace and quiet. You couldn't find a better camp site for a good break. Thank you Virgin and Quiet Site.

Something a bit different
The quiet site offers something a bit different from usual sites. It’s less regimented than most and has lovely views across the lake. The pub is quirky, the staff friendly and very helpful. We stayed in a pod and although it rained we were just able to sit out on the decking and not get wet because of the extended pod roof. A really enjoyable stay 😁

Fantastic relaxing break away
Stay here for 2 nights in November on our first visit to the lakes. The site was so peaceful, had all facilities that were needed and staff were very friendly. Loved the quirkiness of the bar, and the location was so picturesque.

Totally Relaxing
It was our second stay in a pod at The Quiet Site, once again it was a thoroughly enjoyable stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole site was very clean and user friendly. The pod was excellent with Awesome views over Ullswater. The on site bar was a nice place to chill out after a long day in the hills. We have already talked about our next trip there. A really good place to, relax and chill out and take in the scenery and it's also as the say title says "Quiet" thanks.

1 night stay
Stayed in a glamping pod for a night. Was exactly what we were looking for however we were unsure why some pods had a table and balcony outside whilst ours did not. Also, there are no where near enough ameneties (toilets and showers particularly) in comparison to the amount of people staying on the site. Aside from that good location with great views and and an enjoyable stay.

Nice experience
We received this as a gift. The check I was fairly quick and the pod clean. Did expect them to be a bit more spaced out but wasn't over crowded. The views are lovely and the facilities clean. We did go for a drink in the bar but did not stay for one as the mounted heads and cow hides felt very morbid and not to our tastes. It wasn't overly quiet but but everyone was courteous. There were naturally alot of flies so if you go prepare for this.

Glamping in the Lakes
Although initially disappointed at what was being offered as 'glamping' (know of others who have had beds and more facilities) we really enjoyed the experience. The site was beautiful and the pod very cosy. We look forward to returning but maybe next time to 'The Hobbit Hole'

Great place but certainly not glamping!
Great spot in the Lake District for exploring. Glamping pods are just like posh garden sheds! Never done before and was expecting a little bit posher! You really do need to take everything as the accommodation is a hit with s heater!! To call this glamping did not seem right! The pub on site also does not do food! There is a food van on site though for a couple of hours a day,

The worst night sleep of my life!
For starters, this should not be called ‘glamping’.. this is not a glamping experience and defiantly not ‘glamourous’. It is simply camping in a cold, wet shack that stinks. On arrival myself and my partner was told ‘the keys in the door’. No explanation of where the other areas, such as showers were. It was said the pods are heated yet it was the coldest nights sleep of my life. I was tempted to get up and leave as it was cold AND WET inside the pod. Never again would I stay here.

It's off peak camping in a shed on a caravan park
Glamping? Not really, altho' you get a carpet, a light and a small radiator. Voucher was restricted to off peak, outside school holidays, and Sun to Thurs only. Not much use to working families. The Quiet site in lakes sounds idyllic, but in fact it's a massive caravan site. Not my cup of tea.
