Lovely hotel
Lovely hotel in a beautiful country setting. Our room was a bit dated and in need of a lick of paint but the hotel was lovely, the staff were very accommodating and the food was delicious

Lovely break ...
Lovely one night stay at the Mercure Bristol North Grange. Lovely remote location, 10 min drive from Cribbs Causeway. Service was great, happy to change our room on arrival from a twin to a double. Breakfast was lovely.

A Great Overnight Stay
We checked in to the hotel after a busy day out in Bristol. Were made to feel very welcome by Stephan on the front desk. He took the time to ask how our day was and also gave us complimentary drinks vouchers at the bar for the evening. Stephan took an interest in us as guests and even made a suggestion for our day out the next day. A very nice hotel. Good size room, clean and quiet. Period lounge was great for relaxing in the evening and we also had a stroll in the grounds.

To rate it he hotel
Quite dated. No information in room about breakfast times or even fire exit. Bar staff were lovely, very friendly. We thought the bathroom needed updating, didn’t think the walls between tiles & parts of the floor were very clean.

Nice getaway
Lovely hotel, charming and kind staff. Unfortunately there was a wedding on which detracted somewhat from the peaceful nature

Birthday Treat
A lovely hotel in beautiful grounds even though it was off the beaten track in the dark. The room was not up to the standard that I expected from a top class hotel, Two lights didn't work . there was no bedside cabinet alongside the bed to put a watch or glass of water on. I brought this to the attention of reception when booking out. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful with good choices.

Lovely country hotel
Room wasn't ready when we arrived even though reception said it was so left our bags and went sight seeing the hotel is close to Bristol which is great breakfast a good range of choices but sausages were cooked but well pale but maybe because there steamed the rooms very close together so a bit noisy when people coming to bed Which woke me up

Bristol north
Room was basic though clean. Don’t like idea of dogs in rooms -could hear them barking and noise from above .... The fire alarm Went off around midnight and nobody came around to let us know what was happening. After a few minutes we took it upon ourselves to go outside we have a 5 month old baby and it was chaos. Nobody checked to see if all guests were outside as no register was taken lucky this time didn’t appear to be an actual fire. Also continental breakfast awful as I’m dairy free!

One night break for two
The evening meal was good. The classic double was very quiet. However, dated. The breakfast was 1 star as welcome non existent. We had to ask for the cooked breakfast as trays empty. When food came out it was bizarrely cool and had been cooking for a long time.

Not made to feel welcome!
Lovely setting and hotel, just a shame we were moved into separate mews accommodation rather than the hotel building. Would have still been ok however on check-in when giving our name the reaction was “oh you’ve booked through virgin experiences rather than direct with the hotel?” We were made to feel less welcome because of this!

Beware at checkout
Hotel and breakfast fully paid for in advance by voucher, upon checkout the guy tried to say I owed them money for it! Then said he would charge the card on file (MY card!) Then didn't know how to process the voucher. Spoiled the weekend.

Voucher Gift
Disappointing reception and hotel more suited for mass market than a Virgin Gift Experience. Breakfast was good but overall generally below standard in many areas.

Disappointing not the experience we were expecting
Let's start with the positive- they accepted the virgin experience voucher. Another hotel in central Bristol flatly refused although they had rooms available. Was this a luxury four star rated country house hotel for a relaxing break? It was clean and tidy enough but looked tired and in need of a refurbishment. An advert for takeaway pizza in the bedroom sums it up. It was not quite as bad as some other reviewers have found but it was not really 'wow' more like 'whatever' which is a shame.

Gift night away
We stayed at the Grange as our chosen hotel from the Virgin Experience gift we with given by our children. The hotel is in dire need of an uplift. Many of the photos that are advertised on here for this hotel are expired. The outside area is littered with empty glasses, cigarette ends and litter. No one is at reception when you need them, the decor is dated, some of the rooms are tiny with rubbish view. The only positive from our stay was the food in the restaurant.

Very bad service ! We were so dissatisfied
They had a large function on in the hotel and no staff so we waited 50 mins for a drink and an hour and half for dinner and in the end we got up and went to bed ! Breakfast was not much better we were not offered a cup of tea
