Great time
I’ve had a great time with a Virgin experience day. The Vermont Hotel couldn’t have done more or made it as easy as possible. The whole experience was fantastic and I’d definitely recommend this type of gift to anyone.

Just the break we needed
We had been trying to decide when to use our gift but it was difficult to sort around hospital appointments . I rang the hotel and was guided by them re availability and then booking was easily done by email. The hotel was lovely ,bed very comfortable and the food was excellent. All the staff we came into contact with were helpful and pleasant. Overall a very nice night away from the everyday .

Night away in Newcastle
1 night in the Vermont hotel in Newcastle. Location perfect, was right in the middle of the Quayside. Food in the restaurant was delicious for breakfast and for evening meal, with great service to match. We found the drink a little expensive. The room was nice, but view of the railway line which was right outside the wondow. Trains regularly pass by, but noise is not bad. Comfortable bed, room was a decent size with a nice bathroom and good shower. But, the coffee provided had a strange taste.

It’s alright… But could be much better!
It was ok. Hotel is expensive, food options are poor for those with intolerances, service in the restaurant at dinner isn’t as good as at breakfast, rooftop bar isn’t open yet despite being advertised, rooms are a littler dated. But… it’s in a great location, checkin was quick and easy, the breakfast was very good. They’re trying, but they’re some way off a true 4 or even 5 star hotel.

40 years service work treat
although the hotel and food where lovely i feel that the evening meal experience spoilt it a little. having arrived for food we were given a set menu with option for 2/3 course at set price, when bill came at the end all food was charged individually as we sat down after 7pm. no one told us this and no prices on menu this could have been very embrassing

Poor at best
Beef carpaccio served on a hot plate, tasteless shoe leather at best, first time ever sending a plate back to the kitchen and attempt 2 not much better. Perhaps someone needs to explain that carpaccio is meant to be thin and uncooked to the chef and waiting staff. Steak ordered rare and arrive, medium well done, chunky chips ordered and the waiter advised the chef has made a mistake and they will follow shortly. Ten minutes later and I wish they hadn’t, burnt and bitter, inedible.
