Bowden hall
Fantastic stay at the hotel with 1 yr old and our family dog. All staff we met were so incredibly helpful and pleasant, with nothing being too much trouble. Room was lovely and breakfast was fab. Great place to stay, really positive experience. I couldn't say the same for the virgin voucher debarcal. Would not purchase for a gift for anyone as Virgin process makes it very very difficult and time consuming to renew, change or even to redeem. But the hotel was brilliant .

Brilliant Christmas Present!
I received this 2 night break for Christmas and finally got around to using it but wow was it worth the wait! Both my husband and I loved the hotel it was very clean and peaceful! Highlight was the breakfast it was delicious and lots of choice. It was a perfect location to explore the area we visited Gloucester and some beautiful villages in the Cotswolds. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Choosing... anticipating...
From choosing the location to organising and planning our stay -so simple. Contact with Virgin to redeem the voucher and arrange the booking was simple and straightforward. Further contact with the hotel regarding our stay was equally efficient. The staff were friendly and helpful. The setting was peaceful and tranquil. The hotel was impressive and offered excellent accommodation with a superb breakfast included. This was a very thoughtful Christmas gift. I highly recommend it.

Brilliant break away.
We were given this 2 night break as a Christmas gift. It was great. The hotel was really lovely. Only about a 10 minute drive into the centre of Gloucester. We got a taxi in for the day and it was just £9 each way. The hotel is in a lovely village setting. Our room was very good in quality and size. Food excellent and the staff very friendly.

Lovely weekend away
My husband purchased this experience for my christmas present but we booked it for our 1st wedding anniversary. We had such a lovely weekend, the hotel was amazing, staff were friendly and attentitive and the food was incredible. The hotel was lovely and over all had a fabulous time at the Mercure Hotel in Gloucestershire

Great 2 night break
Our daughter bought us a 2 night break at the Bowden Hall Hotel. Staff were very friendly & helpful. The first night we opted to have a meal at the hotel. You always pay extra at a hotel, but a relaxed night was needed, no chasing about. The food was served quickly, was hot and tasty. We also had 2 puddings and added to a couple of drinks the evening was lovely. We had the full english one day then the continental the next, both very nice. The room was clean, tidy, shower good, bed was comfy +++

2 nights at Bowden Hall Hotel, Gloucester
Nice hotel in it's own grounds, ideal for a quiet relaxing break but nothing to do in the evening apart from chill.

Lovely 2 Night Break
Hotel was set in a lovely location. Food was excellent although the service was poor and resulted in no service charge being applied. Also, I left my card details for any charges made to my room and will have to wait 5 days to be refunded. It would've been easier to take the £50 charge of my overall bill?? Apart from that it was a great hotel and the booking was fairly easy

2 nights at Bowden Hall Hotel Gloucester
Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds. Staff excellent throughout. Interior of hotel and bedroom very nice. Breakfast very good, plentiful and good quality. Only issues were 1) Wi-Fi only worked after numerous attempts to connect, sometimes took 10-12 attempts, 2) £10 per glass of wine is excessive and appears to be designed for business expense accounts, and 3) no booking confirmation email sent from Virgin Experience very odd, phone booker said "confirmation would NOT be sent". None received.

Hotel could do with some love!
I’m being a bit critical of the place but it’s sadly a sign of the times. The hotel feels like it needs some money spent on it to bring it up to the level Mercure try and set themselves. Rooms felt old and dated in bathroom etc. We ate in the restaurant on the first night and the food was poor. Breakfast was good though. It’s situated in a great area that’s definitely worth a visit, i’d just not stay at that hotel again.

Will not be attending again
Upon arrival, check in was fast and easy although our room was situated on the 4th floor and even though I am currently 7 months pregnant a I was not given an opportuntity to move room as the hotel was not fully booked, the room was hot and stuffy with a tiny window with the window not opening much. I ordered a hot chocolate which contained stale milk and cream, I was given another one but I was not pleased with this and will not be coming back to poor and slow service.

Disappointing
Quite a nice hotel, shame about the staff/employees. Went out for a romantic meal and a few drinks in Gloucester on our second night and arrived back at the hotel at 2am only to find that the front doors were locked so we couldn’t back to our room! It took 40 minutes of phoning around and searching the perimeter of the hotel to find someone to let us in! We were then greeted by another rude staff member, which seems to be the norm for this hotel. Will not be returning, not a pleasant experience.
