Overview

Clay pigeon shooting is the art - and Olympic sport - of shooting at special flying targets. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced shot, test your aim and accuracy at one of the several shooting grounds across the country. Receive coaching suitable for the novices handling a gun for the first time, to the pro’s looking to perfect their shot. Feel the adrenaline of shooting moving targets, while in a safe environment and under the supervision of trained professionals. You will be given all the necessary training from seasoned shooters before you step up to try it for yourself. Clay pigeon shooting is enjoyed by men and women of all ages across the UK, find the location closest to you and try your hand at the sport.

What happens on the day?

On arrival at the venue you will be met by your instructor from whom you will receive full, thorough instruction on how to use the equipment. You will be given your gun and ear protection and then taken to the clay pigeon site.

Throughout the clay pigeon shooting session you will receive guidance so you can improve with every shot. The session will conclude with a debriefing of your lesson and some handy tips from your instructor should you wish to carry on with the sport.

Participant guidelines

Minimum age: 16 (under 18s must be accompanied by a parent/guardian)
If you suffer from any illness or medical condition that may affect you during this experience you must discuss this with the centre before booking
Pregnant women and people suffering from back problems would be discouraged from taking part as the guns are quite heavy and there is sometimes a kick back when fired
Family and friends are more than welcome to come along and watch, free of charge
The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location

Availability

Most centres are open all year round from 10.00 to 17.00. Occasional Bank Holidays and weekends are unavailable – please check with the venue on booking.

Barby Sporting (Rugby) operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays only.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow approximately 1 hour for the whole experience.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Please ensure you are familiar with the terms and conditions of the experience.

Clay pigeon shooting

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff gave me a really hands on experience. I ended up with a one-to-one experience with the instructor who was very flexible to suit by abilities. Made my family feel very welcome.

Event itself was great fun and well organised and I enjoyed it a lot. We had different shooting locations within the site to get a range of shooting angles and the instructors were very frriendly and informative.
