Hidden and Haunted Edinburgh Tour for Two
Overview
If you love a good old fashioned scare, then this Hidden and Haunted Edinburgh Tour for Two ticks all the boxes. Packed with unsavoury characters and bone-chilling tales, this candlelit tour is the last of the night, and by far the most frightening.
Your cloaked guide will take you on a dark and atmospheric journey through the Old Town before descending into the Blair Street Underground Vaults, where the real scares begin. You’ll hear all about the plots and treasons that led to bloody torture, and the horrific conditions and deaths that typified the Vaults. As well as all the undesirable characters who once called the abandoned chambers home, you’ll learn of the tormented souls that haunt the underground walls to this day.
The Vaults are home to some of Edinburgh’s darkest history, so you never know what you might discover beneath the streets above!

A fun little tour!
Great opportunity to see the vaults and hear some fun anecdotes! Stephanie was a great guide - funny and very eccentric - and made for a memorable evening. We had the Friday night 10pm tour (would suggest the later tours). Would recommend to a friend!

Not scary - just very imteresting
We were unsure on what to expect, dark unlit rooms with people jumping out on you? Well that couldn't be further from the truth! Our guide Mark took us on our 1 hour tour, he was very engaging, told a good tale of some gruesome times gone by, I'm from Scotland and I learnt more about Edinburgh in that tour than I had my whole life! Not as much walking as I anticipated but wear suitable flat shoes as you do go on uneven ground in poorly lit areas (all part of the experience!!) Would recommend!

hidden and haunted
well what can I say. if you have a few hours to spare in Edinburgh I would highly recommend this evening story telling/ghost hunt. 9pm is an ideal time. james the tour guide was brilliant. we went down the vaults heard footsteps above us from an unexcavated room an also a distant scream. we also saw orbs. would do this again. left the tour feeling scared.

Great fun
Had a great time at the 10pm tour. The guide really put her all into getting into character which made it very spooky. Learnt lots of new things about the city although thought there might be more history involved it wasn't a big deal that there wasn't. Liked the fact it was only an hour as kept it pacey. Would definitely consider doing another one of their tours.

Fun and educational! Think the tour guide did well considering the public environment at the time! Would have loved some info to take away so we could remember characters names etc the following day!

It's a difficult one for me...
...the fellow who did the tour was clearly very good at his job, but unfortunately I learnt absolutely nothing about Edinburgh from the tour. I'm sure the many visitors from across the pond were mesmerised by the stories but if you're going to put us in catacombs, tell us more about the reasons they were there, and less about folk stories - I know there's a history specific tour, but I'd have preferred to know that before I paid to go on the ghost tour.
