Fabulous Valentines weekend.
Great Hall set in amazing countryside. Good size bedrooms and spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Was met with a glass of Bucks Fizz. Fabulous leisure centre. Fine dining was ace. Plenty of nice walks around the grounds. Could not fault anything during our stay and would gladly return in the future.

Spa hotel experience
This hotel is in a stunning location in the middle of nowhere in the Peak District. It’s a bit disorganised at the moment as some areas are being refurbed. It will fabulous once finished. But may take some time. There a lot of stairs to negotiate for some of the rooms. I wouldn’t recommend for disabled people. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent.

Dissapointing experience
I wouldn't really class the hotel as 4*. We had to ask for the 'free Proseco' and the room was a little shabby. The food was excellent but there was a long wait between courses. Overall it was a nice experience but not as good as anticipated

Nice, but dinner is a shambles.
Overall the Hall is fine, on lovely grounds and loads of walks to explore. The hotel itself is huge, which if you’re near to reception is fine, but we were on the other side of the building which is a far walk with suitcases and stairs. No offer of assistance, and it’s not very accessible if you need that. Dinner was a long wait, people finished their whole meals while we were waiting (2 hours!) for ours. No sorry/offer of drinks during this time, and a cheap glass of Prosecco for the wait.

Had better
This should be or could be a excellent hotel yes renovations going on but that does not or should not determine how rubbish the food was first night cold food cold plates 2nd cold food hot plates, breakfast cold food cold plates so we only went once. I told them in advance one of us had dietary needs wasn’t addressed. This was a Christmas present and I feel my sisters have been totally ripped off. There was some lovely staff didn’t use spa facilities but all in all stayed in better premier inns.

Chill Trip
Location and surroundings were lovely. Hotel itself was lacking in service, not very friendly for people with disabilities or mobility issues. We had a new room which frankly needed finishing or already an upgrade of decor. Cleaning was poor and items in the room were very minimal, eg soap milk etc. Food was good a service was above average. Certain staff very helpful when there was an issue. The lady for evening meals needs to work on her communication skills.

In need of complete overhaul
Lovely location & grounds, hotel itself is very tired and run down. Refurbishment work is underway in parts of the hotel, which in our case we had to walk through / navigate areas where work was on going with materials lying about. To get to the room was like walking around a rabbit warren, up in the lift walk down a passage way down in the lift walk down the passage way up another lift and access to the room........ Room itself was OK jus a bit dated. On the plus side food was good.

Not good
The Prosecco was opened before it was put on table and had to pour it and food was ok. Food in the bar was better. Door could not be locked from inside as it was broken and furniture had seen better days. Wardrobe’s hinge was broken and shower glass could not be moved onwards and outwards. On our last morning at breakfast food droppings were all over floor with knife and a large piece of food under table and we were first ones in. Staff were cheerful but need to improve to be called 4 star.

Disappointing!
This was a Xmas gift from our son and what a disappointment it was. Although they are refurbishing the rooms ours was not. It was old and dated and not very clean. The bar area was ok but with no music or entertainment it was boring to sit in and drinks were overpriced. We wanted to come home early but with the fact our son had paid for our stay we stuck it out. Would not recommend and definitely not return.

Disappointed spa hotel under going refurbishment, the room we had was poor, so did an upgrade was not much better dinner was ok not the best bar food poor did not stay for the two nights when I went to settle the bill they tried to charge me for wine I had at dinner even though I had paid for it. Horrendous. The worst weekend ever!
I don’t even know where to start. Took my husband for his birthday for a surprise weekend away and it was nothing but problems. We got checked out our hotel room twice, had to argue the fact our dinner was included in the price with Prosecco, the spa was full. The bedroom decor was dated and had 3 beds in it, even though I booked a double room. The bar menu was expensive and Poor. And to top it off, when I checked out and checked my bank they had taken £294 for no reason and won’t refund me.

Hugely oversold
Facilities are very dated, hospitality is poor and food is worse. Didn’t receive several of the items listed.
