One night was not long enough
Lovely hotel just outside Cambridge. Good food, comfy room, friendly atmosphere, free carparking beyond your checkout time. Very helpful staff throughout, one who also printed out local bus timetables and map of Cambridge for one of our excursions. Would definitely go back.

A beautiful hotel with great 5 star service
We used our voucher last weekend a gift from our daughter and son-in-law. Perfect from beginning to end. The Queens Hallmark Hotel is absolutely beautiful located right outside Chester train station. We were greeted warmly on arrival had the most beautiful room in Kings Napoleon room. The dinner was amazing and the service was first class. Every member of staff in this hotel were lovely a smile on every face. Breakfast was also brilliant a really excellent present can't fault anything

Much better than it look from the outside!
The Hotel from the outside looks very tired and run down especially the round main structure where the rooms are. Lots of free parking. Much nicer inside and very comfortable. Afternoon tea for £19 for two was exceptional. Very friendly staff. Great dinner and breakfast although dinner service was very slow as the chef forgot about us! We had an inner circle room which was ok, a bit dated and smaller than the outer rooms. The only criticism is that the pillows were like bags of concrete!!

Highly recommended
Had a few niggles trying to book over the phone but sorted in the end. No one on reception when we arrived to book in. After about five minutes a young waiter came over to chat to reassure us we weren't being ignored. A very polite, friendly & professional young Man. The room was ok, the food good but thought having to pay extra for a small salmon steak was a bit OTT. We didn't expect breakfast as we had to check ou at 4am but tea & toast was made available which was an added bonus

Hallmark Hotel Break
Stayed one night at The Queen Hallmark hotel in Chester. Lovely hotel. Great service in the King's Grill restaurant. Lovely room. Chester is a beautiful place to visit with the walled city, historic centre (The Rows), cathedral, Roman sites, and the river Dee. All within easy walking distance of the hotel. Hotel next to the railway station, so idea for a break when you want to leave the car at home.

My husband and I have just celebrated our 48 anniversary and my birthday with a dinner bed and breakfast short break at a hallmark hotel in Gloucester. It was a lovely time, the hotel very good, the staff very friendly and helpful. We were even given a free glass of procesco each. Well done hallmark. One night hotel stay in Bournemouth.
The Virgin Experience Break was a 2017 Christmas present from our son! Very good idea as the East Cliff hotel is in a lovely position overlooking Bournemouth beach. The hotel is modern with excellent facilities and good food. We had a very relaxing September break.

Voucher stay
Hotel is a majestic building full of character. Room was great. Staff were wonderful. Breakfast was great! The only downside was with the actual 'voucher' aspect of the evening meal. Its a limited choices set menu. Unfortunately non of the 4 main courses really appealed to me so I chose a schnitzel (which to be fair was well cooked and very large), but not to my taste so I left most. A more extensive range of choices, (even if including less expensive meals), would be better

West Cliff Hotel, Bournemouth
Really enjoyed the experience. Hotel staff were very welcoming. Only disappointment was that the dinner menu was restrictive in that you couldn’t have everything on it without paying a supplement. I get that for expensive items but not for cheese & biscuits and a bit of peppercorn sauce. When we left we were asked for extra payment for bar bill when we’d paid cash, so can only assume somebody else gave our room number for a tab but in fairness they accepted it wasn’t us.

Good weekend
The hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were very welcoming and friendly. The meal was excellent. We had a waiter who was professional and attentive. The car park is not owned by the hotel so make sure you pay the correct tariff. Areas to improve: the temperature of the water in the shower was variable and went from cool to very hot and vise versa. It was quite powerful and a lot of water ended up on the bathroom floor. Please put adequate lighting in the rooms and a plug point near the mirror.

Really nice hotel
We arrived the hotel and was very disappointed as you have to pay £5 for parking. I don't think you should have to park if you are staying there. We upgraded to a superior room I did expect more as it was quite basic. The hotel it self was lovely and was in lovely grounds. We had dinner included and it was so nice the best starter I've ever had! Welsh rarebit tart. The main was really nice too I had a veggie burger. We also had breakfast included and this was ok. Overall a nice hotel

24 hours in Chester
We stayed at the Queen's hotel in Chester. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was full of unusual sculptures and other features which made it pretty unique. The room itself was spacious and very clean although there were some areas that were worn, like the sides of the bed and the bath panel. The evening meal was very good and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Chester is a beautiful town and we spent several hours walking around the walls and the shops.

Renewing old memories
I was given a Virgin Experience One Night Break with Dinner for Two by one of my sons as a birthday present - a wonderful idea and much appreciated. I chose the West Cliff Hotel in Bournemouth, as I first went to Bournemouth as a young boy in the 1950s. The hotel is very conveniently situated near the centre of the town, but in a quiet residential area. We received a warm welcome at reception and our room was very spacious. We tried all the facilities, the spa etc and the swimming pool, although you had to pay extra for using the spa. Our three course evening meal was very good and the waiting staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. The barman certainly knew his job and was very pleasant to chat to. Breakfast was well presented and plenty to choose from. As we wanted to see more of Bournemouth to travel down memory lane, we stayed an extra night so feel we can pass a true judgement on the quality of this hotel.

Queens hotel chester
Friendly helpful staff but think more staff needed. Hotel is full of history. Bedroom lovely. Breakfast on sunday morning was shocking packed in dining room like sardines. Only 2 young girls cleaning tables so lots of dirty tables . Food luke warm. Breakfast was better on Monday when it was nt as busy. Limited choice 3 course set evening meal. Not the best. Bar expensive. Will not be returning any time soon

Hair and piece of plastic in starter, bugs in bedroom, best part of it was the hour spent in the pool! One of the worst nights sleeps I’ve had, was giving as a gift but can imagine it wasn’t cheap either!

A Decent night away
Staff at the hallmark hotel were nice. bedroom was okay. But their areno facilities apart from a garden and a small bar. menu was okay but nothing special & It wasnt until I booked over the phone when i realised that its £23 spend on your evening meal, which isnt alot considering that the prices of the meals arent cheap (eg starters varies from £6 - £12, main - fish chips and mushy peas & burger and chips is £14.50 and desserts around £7) drinks are not included. Breakfast was cold.

My 50th birthday present
I stayed at the Hallmark hotel in Glasgow. Staff were lovely although would have to say understaffed ..my meal tasted nice although was not value for money and would never have paid the prices if it wasn't bought for me as a gift. The price of the drink is far too expensive for the hotel. A cider was £5.40 .The room was a bit dated and musty. The spa and pool was good. I would return to this hotel, but would not eat or drink. The staff were very welcoming and helpful..

What A pity
Very nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent food but spoiled by high room temperature which limited sleep. The room unfortunately had been left in the recent hot spell with curtains open and no fan. a fan was provided ,at our request, but it took until 3 am to get the room down to a temperature that allowed sleep. the problem was known and a little foresight could have made our experience of the hotel much more enjoyable.

Could have been better!
We paid extra for a superior room which turned out to be smaller than our originally allocated room. It also had no hot water for a shower the next morning. Whilst clean and comfortable the television was on a wall at 90 degrees to the bed so viewing was difficult. The leisure club is tired and in need of a good clean. Showers are particularly dirty and there was an awful lot of dust between slats in the sauna seating.....!

Okay. (Is this short enough)?
Arrived at check-in. Another couple already checking in, & disputing about if they had prepaid. Allowed to spend 15 minutes checking on their phone. Room was great. Clean and tidy, and quiet after 10 p.m.. Evening meal was poor. We both ordered fish & chips. I got a whole fish, and my wife just half. Had to complain in order to get a full portion. Drinks very expensive. Bottle of water more expensive than premium lager! Breakfast was too busy. Ingredients not replaced quickly when none left.

Dissapointing to say the least
As I have never been to Bournemouth before I booked into one of the Hallmark hotels. The first hotel I spoke to said they had a seaview double bedroom left but the voucher would not cover the cost, when I asked if I could pay the difference I was told in no uncertain terms No. I then booked into their other hotel. The Hotel itself was very nice, with small swimming pool and sauna facilities to use. The food and service in the evening however was as close to life as an episode of Faulty Towers.

Not brilliant stay
We stayed in room 35 which was on a low level - disturbed most of the night from in-house Christmas party and thin bedroom walls!!! Nothing was explained on booking in about the pool and spa facilities and we had to transport heavy luggage down long corridors and stairs No in room heating just a heater in the wardrobe The evening meal included was average and drinks expensive - breakfast was undercooked Not a very enjoyable stay to be honest

Let down
Disappointed paid £155.00 for DBB if we had paid ourselves it would have been cheaper. They had an off on dinner £39.99 for two people. Our room was overlooking the station so all we headed was the station master telling us the train was due in. Building was listed so no air con all we had was a fan and as it was the hottest day of the year, we asked for another fan but none available. Also had to pay £8.00 to park in the Hotel. Won't go again

Never again!
Dirty! The hotel was very dirty and needs a good refurb. The meal options offered were very minimal. There was one option for vegetarians. As a vegetarian myself I asked if there was any other option as I’m not a fan of risotto but I was told nothing available. So I just had a starter and dessert. Desert was cheap flavourless! This was a romantic one night stay but I didn’t enjoy the stay at all. The 2 stars are merely for the waiter who was good and said sorry for the veggie option.
