Bird on the Hand - Extended Falconry Experience
We had the perfect ‘up close’ day…with the guidance of the brilliant staff at ‘Bird on the Hand’! We felt the awesome power of the female Steppe Eagle flying to our glove…the gentleness of the beautiful Eurasian Eagle Owl…and the sheer fun of the 2 little burrowing owls! Falcons/Kites/Hawks….all came out to play….which made this day such a great experience with the variety of birds of prey on offer! Young or old…I know we all will have gone away with great memories of today! Highly recommended

Really interesting day
After a little difficulty finding Bird on the Hand (it has no sign), I really enjoyed learning about and handling several magnificent birds of prey. Andrew is very knowledgeable and imparts a lot of facts with obvious enthusiasm. Excellent alfresco lunch. A really good day out.

Superb day out - organised very well and everything ran on schedule. Whether you are interested in seriously learning more about birds of prey or just enjoying an experience with them, there is something for everyone. The guide and bird handlers are very knowledgeable and answer all questions that you put to them. Handling the birds and flying them is just brilliant. The weather was good which really helps and the lunch provided was very tasty. I can thoroughly recommend the day out.

What a fabulous day
Had a fabulous day at the Cotswold Falconry Centre which was very interactive - got to see many birds of prey and even better got to handle several of them. The weather was both good and bad - it was a lovely bright day but unfortunately there was no wind and very few thermals which meant some of the birds didn't perform to their potential - may have to go back again then :-) The staff were great very knowledgeable and friendly and what a super job they have. Great day and would recommend it.

We had a fantastic day at the Cotswold Falconry centre, starting with a most interesting talk about the history of falconry in the training room. The we were able to see a variety of falcons, owls and eagles close up as they sat on our outstretched arms. The young 6 month old golden eagle and the bald eagle were magnificent. After a nice lunch and coffee we participated in flying hawks, falcons and owls in the open fields - it was fascinating to see how these hunters use the wind to gain advantage over their prey. The collection of owls from all over the world was fabulous. The spectacle of vultures mating was noise and funny! Thoroughly recommended experience.

Lovely afternoon
We paid for a whole day but were advised that experience was no longer available. We therefore only got a half day - so paid more than if we had not paid via Virgin. Two other guys came with us & they had same experience but had been given an all day option. We queried with company & then got given an extra half day on another date. That was good, but still not quite what we had paid for. However, lovely views and very interesting, would have been better if one to one basis and not two couples.
