Overview

Enter the Abyss at Magna in Rotherham, the UK’s only indoor extreme sports centre, for an adrenaline-pumping experience you’ll never forget.

You’ll begin with a 250ft zip wire where you’ll reach speeds of up 30mph before climbing back to the top for an exciting abseil down 150ft of open air in a truly jaw-dropping descent. Once you’ve conquered those you should be ready for the parachute descender - a totally unique experience using a super powerful fan. In this parachute simulation, you will freefall to the ground before a fan creates an uplift that guides you safely down.

Finally, it’s time to take on the big one: the world’s highest indoor bungee jump. You’ll stand 150ft in the air as music and dry ice fill the room, before taking a deep breath and launching yourself from the platform for the pinnacle of this Awesome Foursome experience.

What happens on the day?

After a briefing from your instructor, you will be kitted out with your harness and safety equipment. Then you will climb the long and winding walkway into the rafters zip wire. The instructor will attach you, and then you push off to whizz down the wire, reaching speeds of up to 30mph before safely reaching the landing zone.

Then you will abseil 150ft into The Abyss from the rafters of The Face of Steel. Getting braver by the minute you will try the newest extreme experience, a 150ft parachute descender, where you will experience the rush of gravity before the braking system allows you to parachute safely to the ground. Finally, with the adrenaline pumping, it’s time for the ultimate rush: the world’s only indoor bungee jump of 150ft.

Participant guidelines

Minimum age: 14 (under 15s require parent or guardian permission and signature)
Maximum age: 50 with no doctor’s certificate, no maximum age with a doctor’s certificate
Maximum weight: 18 stone 9 lb
Waist harnesses fit waist size of 15.7in to 49.2in
If you are not in good health, or if you are pregnant, you should NOT jump
If you have any of the following conditions you should seek medical advice before jumping
You will not be permitted to jump should you have any of the following conditions: High Blood Pressure, and Heart Problems, dizziness, Epilepsy, Neurological conditions or Asthma. Participants cannot jump if they have any damage to neck, spine, legs or eyes
If you suffer from any of the above but have been given a doctors certificate, you will be requested to sign a non standard waiver
Medication – please inform us if you are taking any form of medication
Glasses or hard contact lenses cannot be worn
Alcohol – If you appear intoxicated you cannot jump
Spectators are welcome

Availability

The experience runs approximately once a month on selected weekend dates throughout the year. Please contact the supplier when making a booking for updated availability.

We recommend you book at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow 4 hours for the experience.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
