Abseil from the ArcelorMittal Orbit

On arrival at the ArcelorMittal Orbit you’ll meet up with the Wire & Sky team before going through a safety brief, kitting up in your equipment and jumping in the lift to shoot up to the top of the sculpture.

You’ll have a bit of time to take in the sights before making your way out onto the airy abseiling platform, where the team will go through the final safety checks ahead of attaching you to the abseiling systems. You’ll be taught everything you need to know to abseil safely and in a controlled manner – so all you’ll need to do then is take the leap.

• Minimum age: 14 (Under 18s require parental consent)
• One adult can supervise a maximum of 5 under 18s 
• Minimum height: 3ft 11in (1.2 metres)
• Maximum weight: 19 stone (120kg)
• Maximum waist circumference: 51in (130cm)
• Participants must be physically fit (if in doubt they must consult with a medical practitioner beforehand) and have a good degree of physical strength
• Spectators will need to buy entry to the ArcelorMittal Orbit if they wish to view the abseil from the upper floors
• Please note: anyone deemed to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary 

This experience will be available on selected dates throughout the year.

Groups of 5 depart every 30 minutes.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure a date is available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow up to 2 hours for the full experience (10 to 15 minutes abseiling time).

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
