Overview
Sometimes two things are so great that you’re left with no option but to put them together. Whisky blending is the art of doing exactly that, so that each one makes its contribution to the finished blend without outweighing the other.
Now’s your chance to learn about the coveted process. Proceedings will get underway with an introduction to whisky, where you’ll be able to sample a handful of whiskies of differing styles. Your resident whisky expert will talk you through each one’s origins and processes, as well as the smell and flavours to expect upon tasting. Then things get scientific: armed with a pipette and a mini bottle, you’ll slowly build up a blend of your very own. Along the way you’ll discover how blended whisky came to be and why it remains the backbone of the Scotch whisky industry.
To make your experience extra-special, you’ll take home your bespoke blend to enjoy whenever you please.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at your chosen Whisky Lounge location, you’ll meet your guide before your experience gets underway. Over the course of the experience, you will sample four varieties of whisky, before creating your own blend from the available selection.
You’ll come away with a new found appreciation of good whisky, as well as an understanding of blending techniques – not to mention your very own concoction to enjoy at home.

Availability
This experience is available on selected dates throughout the year. Please note: new class dates will be released soon.
We recommend you book at least eight weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 2 hours for the whole experience.
Please note there is a minimum attendance of 20 people for a tasting or blending event to go ahead. If numbers are short and the event is cancelled an alternative date will be offered.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

Brilliant!
Our session was at "383 Euston Road", which proved to be the function room of the Green Man PH. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Learned a bit about whiskey. Tried a few. Tried blending. Then used the results of the blending to produce two double shot bottles of the chosen blend.

Whiskey blending experience
I bought this as a gift for my Husband. I’m not a whiskey fan but I really enjoyed this day. It was very informative but not boring at all. The host was very knowledgeable. There was a good variety of whiskeys to taste & we had a great time blending the different whiskeys to make our own blend.

Great evening on the whisky blending workshop. Arrived at the venue and were shown to the room. Our host Rupert was excellent and had a good knowledge of whisky and did this with humour and fun. Good tasting thoroughly enjoyed the night

A great Birthday present.
The whisky lab was totally unpretentious. Very relaxed, funny and informative 2 hours. It gave us a good understanding of the history of whisky and how to blend to get the flavours that you enjoy. Thoroughly recommended.

Superb way to spend a Saturday night.
Had a really great time at 50 great bridgewater street sampling whisky with no e and listening and learning some very interesting facts about the process and history of whisky production from our very knowledgable and friendly host. 10 out of 10 for this experience.

Happy days
We attended a whisky tasting at the manchester venue. It was a very enjoyable experience. The presenter Rupert was superb, very knowledgeable, and the event was liked by all who attended. One word of advice, dont drive there !!!

Fun & Informative
We had a great time at the Cross Keys on the whisky tasting and blending evening. The presenter was very informative whilst also a bit of fun into the presentation. We have learnt so much about our favourite tipple, whilst sampling and blending many that we had not heard of. We now have a new favourite single malt, knowing how it was distilled, where, how it was stored, for how long, etc etc. Our local pub landlord has promised he will get it in for us now. Many many thanks for the experience.

Great evening
I attended the event with a whisky loving friend of mine. The whole evening was great from start to finish, very informative and good banter with the other whisky lovers. The samples of whisky that we tasted were very good and I can't wait to sample my own creation that I blended at the end of the event. The venue at the Sheffield Tap was an ideal place to hold the event. I and my friend will certainly be attending another event.

Great whisky stories
I have been drinking whisky for twenty years but I still like finding new things out about the history and enjoyment of whisky. The guy who ran the tasting night had some excellent stories and was very engaging (so much so that we ran a little over time). The blending portion of the evening was enjoyable as well - throwing together different single malts to see if we could make something palatable - really gives you an appreciation of Master Blenders!

Whisky Blending - York Brigantes
Excellent evening led by Guy who's knowledge on whisky is vast. Nothing was too much trouble. We were left feeling very pleased in how the evening went and we learned a lot from it. No question was unanswerable to Guy as far as whisky goes.

Whisky blending London
Brilliant experience! Guy gave an excellent and informative talk on the history and processes of whisky blending. Opened my eyes to what is quite a complex process. Enjoyed the practical tasting too!!! Only downside was had to travel all the way from Devon to London for a two hour experience which made a really long day, so an experience like this nearer to home would be brilliant
